Did Marciano Hit Harder Than Frazier?

How about big buster Mathis? Or big Ramos?

 

It's a debatable topic as the two men are comparable. Frazier was slightly bigger and weighed more, he also grinded down many opponents with a relentless assault. Very Similiar to Marciano. He fell short in stopping the very big Ali, and Foreman which brings us to the "what if" factor that is endlessly debated about Marciano's chances against larger Quality opponents.
If I had to choose I would pick Marciano, slight edge in overall power and certaintly possessed better power in his weaker arm than Frazier.

Yes, one of them had knockout power in both hands where as the other had Knockout power that could be doubled up off the lead hand. Although both were presure fighters the effort of doubling up power punches with the lead hand required completely different stance and motion.

He didn't really though, not at the top level. Layne, (Matthews If you want to count him) and Walcott. But against the likes of LaStarza, Charles, Don C. and Moore, he ground them down.
I think Joe would have done pretty similarly to Rocky against the same opponents save that one brutal KO against Walcott, which was a perfect punch.

I think it's a wash honestly as to whom hit harder.

 

On the face of it you'd think Marciano with some of his brutal KOs but generally his best KOs were against opponents from lower divisions and opponents who'd had other KO losses. Frazier's stoppages of Foster and Ellis are also pretty devastating in that context.

Still Rocky's right is probably the most powerful punch

 

Both similar imo.

I would imagine Frazier steamrolls Rocky's opposition, whereas with Rocky we don't have to imagine because he actually did it.

 

Ellis was stopped on his feet. Good stoppage from Foster, although I believe Jimmy's corner was on the verge of pulling their man out. Was only a matter of time before Frazier would have stopped him with his own two fists.
