Fact: Lewis wanted a fat Johnson more than any skinny Byrd or big Klit. Johnson ignited his passions, he would have never lost the urge if he could have just got his hands on that fat Johnson. Fact: When the IBF said Lewis had to pound a Rahman or a Tuaman, he was most eager. But lick a Byrd? No, he didn't have the passion or the urge. Fact: Lewis regrets not getting more Johnsons during his active years before finally settling down. Fact: Johnson pulled out of Lewis, leaving him dissatisifed. When Lewis had the opportunity to lick a big Easter European Klit, he lost the urge.
:? He fought Vitali...after Johnson pulled out, and at short notice. Perhaps if you'd said "in a rematch" that might have been more relevant.
Lewis could not bring himself to attack a Klit with the same passion he would have attacked a big fat Johnson that night. If Lewis could get Johnson at least two times a year, he would have never retired, he would have stayed satisifed and not lost the urge.
Remember, Lewis had spent months, preparing to handle a fat black Johnson, getting in the best shape he possibly could, only to discover a big white Klit that is even longer than him. What a shock that must have been, to not enjoy his usual size advantage. Surely such an event could rob a man of his urge.
Actually we do see eye to eye on this topic because I agree with this point. But I think with respect to the interview afterwards it's rather disheartening to have just beaten an extremely tough opponent and have instead of being congratulated to have to defend your victory. Also I don't think Vitali should have continued with that fight, if anything it went on for a round or two longer than it should have. The doctor who stopped the fight said it was among the worst cuts he's seen in the 20 years he's been at ringside and apparently the cut was very close to some nerves around the eye.
Now this is a post I can respect. If you turn off the volume and watch what's taking place, you'd see that Lewis clearly had Vitiali hurt at the end of the fight.
Fact he actually fought the big Easter European Klit (so apparently you missed it) and another fact is he won the fight.
I don't know about that. Vitali had to get well over 60 stitches after the fight so god only knows what he would have done if he fought with passion. My best guess would be that Vitali would have suffered some kind of permanent injury
Do not under estimate Lewis' hunger for Johnson. If that fat Johnson was dangled in front of Lewis today, he would end his quiet family life and indulge his cravings.
Rahman's effort against Barrett and Oleg was horrifying, I can see why Vitali had unnecessary surgery and quit the sport for 4 years after witnessing those displays of pugilism.
I re-read what you wrote and you clearly said " Lewis could not bring himself to attack a klit with the same passion he would have attacked a big fat Johnson" (pure speculation btw) and I responded to this comment accordingly.
