Its still the biggest fight out there by far. OK this isn't the PAC from the cotto fight or the mayweather from the Marquez fight but these are styles are made for each other. Mayweather has that right hand to keep the southpaw in check but PAC has handspeed, power and chin to get through the defence.

I don't think fans/critics can take credit for what Floyd has become inside or outside the ropes. Actually......I know they can't. Floyd has to take the good with the bad and own it. He's a man, makes his own decisions and should be accountable for his words and actions. So what he's accomplished in the sport is all based on his hard work and dedication ....all the heat, legal trouble and criticism he receives outside the ropes is all based on one grown mans choices, no one else. Blaming the media and playing the race card is a cope out in Floyd's situation.

My question wasn't assumptive. It was based on two out of the three posts that you have published on this thread.

Your initial post, in which you respond to Gannicus, does weigh very heavily in Mayweather's favor. Granted, you do not do so at Pacquiao's expense, in this response. Nonetheless, you do attempt to make several points in defence of some key and widely shared criticisms of Mayweather, none of which are particularly unusual or "unfair". The Marquez and Mosley bouts are certainly worthy of critique and that you consider this as "discounting [Mayweather's] accomplishments" seems to demonstrate your level of feeling on the matter.

As my first reply to your defence of Mayweather would indicate, I don't think it's unfair to make these criticisms and there is a strong case to suggest that the best opposition has not been faced, while alternative match-ups and associated results are overstated in value. Endeavoring to place a Boxer's success into some kind of realistic context is not necessarily an arbitrary or unduly harsh pursuit.

Subsequently, in the other of the two posts I mention, you have stated that Pacquiao's record is "manufactured", to some extent, and have then proceeded to pick holes in his titles won. This reads like a stab at discounting Pacquiao's achievements, to me. At the very least, you're making sure to paint a perspective, which shows Pacquiao's career achievements do not appear to exceed Mayweather's. I can understand your motives for doing so but, all-in-all, it does not indicate an altogether balanced view, in my opinion.

So no assumption has been necessary - you have clearly drawn the line, as well as shown which side of it you stand and, while I do not greatly care to start a thread, which tries to diminish Pacquiao's career, as alluded to in my previous post, neither Pacquiao's nor Mayeather's records are above receiving negative comment. Perhaps, given your feelings and position on the topic, you are best placed to make such a case against Pacquiao.
