I don't buy the invincible Tyson myth. I think Holyfield, Lewis, and Bowe would all have beaten him at any time. Cus D'Amato or no Cus D'Amato.

I'm saying that the 80s and 90s were as good as the 70s and 60s. The only decline is in the last ten years in the Klitschko reign.

tyson was far from invinceable he had his fair share of weaknesses. that being said i don't think anyone in the 90's would've been able to beat tyson if he stayed on the right path.

the 80's and 90's were not as good as the 70's and 60's. the 60's and 70's had at least 5 prime top 10 atg's. how many did the 80's and 90's have?

what excuse?:-( TYSON got himself into drugs, TYSON abandoned the amazing defence and head movement that got him to the top. TYSON fired the managing team that helped him get there. TYSON got himself in the washington and givens ****. TYSON stopped training. TYSON was having *** with japaneese prior to a defense. TYSON hired Don King and his managment. TYSON stopped taking boxing seriously.

again no excuse. Tyson has nobody to blame but himself.

yes he was. Holyfield said that out of everyone he faced and sparred with, foreman hit him the hardest.

    I would rank them thusly:

    90's
    70's
    80's
    60's

The first two are close and the second two are close. But there is a big gap atween em.

holmes was defiently not prime, most don't consider tyson and holyfield top 10 atgs. and again as you stated foreman was past prime. Lewis is the only one a case can be made for. only some people consider him an atg. even if i gave you the benefit of the doubt and say lewis, holyfield, and tyson, are typically recgonized as top 10 atg's (which they're not) thats still only 3 heavyweights
what is your top 10 list? just wondering.

It was a veritable rite of passage to KO Alex Stewart and Tommy Morrison but both lasted the route with George.. as did the Savarese who an ancient Tyson blasted out in one.

Granted George had a weird power that moved his oppenents, tilted the ring, but his KO prowess had faded. There were many better KO punchers in the 90's.

Depth, consistency, powerpunchers, and historical importance both within the decade and in transition between the previous and latter decades. Perhaps you could read my previous post on this issue.

That seems a strange thing to say when Bowe had him staggered badly several times in their fights (that uppercut in the 10th round in the first fight is still fresh in my memory) and even down a couple of times yet in his fight against Foreman, while he was tagged a few times by big punches, he didn't really seem that badly hurt by them.
