I'd usually flick back and forth between the two as well but I've been a huge Beterbiev fan for years now and I want to see the pre-fight build and chat too. I'm a much bigger fan of boxing too. I do like watching MMA a lot as well though.

Cool. When I was your son's age, or perhaps a few years older, I was setting my alarm for the middle of the night to watch Tyson.

You're talking about Conor McGregor. I've only seen him fight once before myself and that was a first round blow out IIRC. I've seen a few of his interviews before though and he's a quite a character to say the least.

Beterbiev has a lot of hype for sure, this fight is a bit like Salido vs Lomachenko, very big step up for a pro with such little experience. I'm very interested to say the least.

Yes this conor fella is very arrogant and is in with a decent opponent tonight. A lot of pressure on him because the UFC think he a potential star and moneymaker. Poirier could stop the hype. Tough fight.

It's a ridiculously risky fight for Beterbiev and one that's totally unnecessary, IMO. I'm actually pissed of with his handlers for allowing this. I've tentatively gone for him to win via stoppage (most likely via corner retirement) but it's not a confident pick at all. He's never been past four rounds before or even made 175 and his opposition so far as a pro has been very poor indeed.

Cloud isn't just much more experienced he's also very strong in the areas that can expose the ones where there are questions marks still remaining about Beterbiev. He has a great chin, a good engine and he can also bang with both hands. Beterbiev's has a great chin himself and excellent power but he's also got a bit of a leaky defence as well. Cloud hits hard enough to have hurt much more experienced iron-chinned pros like Glen Johnson and Clinton Woods, the later numerous times. If Beterbiev punches himself out and tires down the stretch it could easily go pear shaped for him, especially if making 175 has left him weak. There are plenty of very durable CWs they could've stuck Beterbiev in with to take him some rounds to prepare him for a fight like this. :patsch

I wasn't happy about Loma taking on Salido after so little experience as a pro either.

I've not seen any of McGregor's opponent's fights before. McGregor is certainly a good talker though and there appears to be a lot of needle between them so it should be good.

Last undercard fight, Dierry Jean vs. Ruiz is on now.

The main event is coming up fairly soon.

I was praying for Beterbiev to turn pro for years. I knew he was an absolute beast and that his power was exceptional but I didn't expect him to get Cloud out of their that quickly after having so few pro fights, largely against absolute no hopers.

I told everyone Cloud wasnt the same fighter as a few years ago. Good win for Beterbiev at such an early stage, but Clouds Obvious slippage and ring rust made this an easy pick for any objective fan.

Yeah, ok!! So losing his last 2 fights and being out a year had no effect? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about!

and you are obviously making excuses. he never was top notch. once his creative handling ran out, so did his ko's, then victories. same thing will soon happen to fury and wilder.

You do Beterbiev a disservice by saying this. Cloud was a good up and coming fighter having beaten some decent comp. His confidence waned after the close call with Campirillo and kept dipping his next two fights. This was obvious to every boxing fan and expert alike. Combine that with a year layoff and you had a recipe for disaster. Im not taking anything away from Beterbiev, he looked strong and hungry. But posters like yourself seem to overblow something like this to hype a new guy. Its a good win. But acting like these factors dont matter is just ridiculous.
