Floyd Mayweather vs. Amir Khan speculation & discussion

I am certain Mayweather considers Khan as commercially viable but Maidana, having just upset Broner (in December 2012) became an easier deal to make for the May 2014 date. Khan had done nothing since early 2013 and ended up on the undercard for Mayweather/Maidana I. It would have been useful if a Khan/Broner bout had come off for that date. Instead it was Khan/Collazo.

Floyd still has Khan in his sights. But Khan needs to make a statement in his next fight to force the issue. Talking and waiting will not aid his cause.

 

First of all I didn't say khan deserved it. Second You can't like like being the WBA welterweight championship is some great feat. There way too many **** belts ,maidana beat someone who may have lost to Paulie malignaggi who knocked out senchenko. I don't think any of those guys would be considers the top fighters of the division let alone the champions. Take each win on the opponent level .

 

How come Cotto didnt have top avenge his loss to Pacquiao? Or Maidana to Alexander?

I can't argue that being the WBA Champion is some great feat? , Maidana beat someone who "might have" lost to Malignaggi?, why was he completely overlooked going into this fight?. I wanted to see khan fight manny we were arguing about you blaming khan for the fight not taking place. I'd like to see him fight Floyd too and I think he'll beat him. The point is that maidana hasn't fought any top calibre fighters in his run to the Floyd fight. Using the belt as a way to show he does is a bad arguement I think most people would fancy khan against malignaggi again if he had of taking a rematch , broner is very possibly not a top 15 fighter at welterweight miadna being an underdog says more about maidanas level than broners.

 

The fight is still there for Khan if he beats Kell Brook. Them two fight and the winner fights mayweather in a unification fight.
