Who would you pick to win right now if they fought?

At the moment I don't know how good is Beterbiev's chin - imho its rather week, I think if Kova lands first he can score another KO.
Anyway, it can go either way - Beterbiev has strong power with long reach and he of course has all the tools to beat Kova.

Cant really remember - its just settled in my memory about his amateur loss. I had an impression that the guy is a ko artist but can be beaten.
ps. that's why I stated IMHO as I wasn't sure 100%. Will check that out.

Kovalev's chin is suspect, and I expected that Beterbiev might expose it, early and often.

Kovalev looks like he has better technique. What I've seen from Beterbiev makes him look strong but sloppy.

I agree with this. And Kovalev is more battle tested for sure and has faced the way better opposition.

He didn't take a shot too well with headgear on, it seems:

And, he's tasted canvas more recently, as a pro. Doesn't seem like he takes the greatest punch.

    I have a question...

Why are most of the people who are celebrating the Beterviev victory over Cloud to the maximum the same folks who have stressed (mostly correctly, to their credit) for a couple years now that Cloud is an overrated garbage titlist with no skills?

I seemed to have thought more of Cloud than at least half of you guys. I should be the one praising the win while you guys should be saying how it doesn't mean anything because Cloud wasn't much even at his peak.

    Obvious agenda is obvious agenda.

I've really hyped Beterbiev, but also pointed out last night that Cloud was shot, so I'm consistent.

Ahhhhh...gotta love the amateurs and how irrelevant video of amateur fights are many years later in the pros.

    Well that's good.

Not that I even look at posters' names all the time and def don't remember what they say about what 98% of the time, I will say that many of these folks are showing off classic hypocrisy of boxing fans when it comes to credit given to fighters before and after certain events which they have some attachment to.

X 2, agreed. It's like citing sparring footage or, even better, sparring rumors as having some relevance.

He got dropped in the ams by Atoev who is a big puncher, who also happened to outpoint Beterbiev, Kovalev also got back up and finished the fight.

Vital Klitschko and Bowe both got KO'd in the ams but had pretty chins as a pro.
