Last night it has too be said smigga worked the game plan to a peach last night - brilliant discipline. He made many eat their words with a showing out of his skin. What impressed me the most was his un willingness to be drawn into a war at times, which he has been guilty of many times! I'm not saying for a second he beat AA & was robbed, I am saying he gave a performance I never knew he could. I think,if he had that focus & drive and mainly discipline and training early in his career, then Paul smith would be an altogether different beast. And that interview at the end was one of the most humbling I have seen in a long time - bellew, broner & the likes take note!
Was a decent performance but AA is shot to ****. Losing 20 pounds in 2 weeks and being seen pounding the streets during fight week to lose weight clearly affected him as he took huge chunks of time off during rounds. Smith should go back to domestic level now. Some big fights there. Hope he hasn't deluded himself into believing he is actually world class.
Very good performance better than anything he's shown before and against an excellent opponent, huge credit to Paul and his team
He didn't land much clean during the first six rounds. That cost him on my card. Only the odd body shot here and there. He kept hitting AA's gloves and arms. Did much better in last six rounds tho. Seemed to grow in confidence as AA tired.
I thought Paul did OK , but remember this AA couldnt be bothered and was laughing in the corner at no real point did he think this was a fight. The AA that fought Taylor stops Paul in about 4 - 6 rounds. Peace.
Agree with all above comments, especially the come back to domestic level - however I see one more fight for smigga before he calls it a day, he wins the Lonsdale outright (possibly against a 'gimme' opponent then retires, the way him and joe G devised that game plan last night was very clever, regardless of AA's mind set. Kudos to those involved.
Was very impressed with Smith, thought he gave as good as he got. His work rate was good and he didn't look out of his depth at all. Did he do enough to win? Mmm not so sure but the scoring was an absolute **** take. Would love to see a rematch in Liverpool
Not a hope in hell of a rematch unless mathroom and sauerlands do a joint promotion using david price in some sort of title fight and the rematch. AA would imo simply cost to much money to bring him out of Germany, I think hed only come out if it were a unification fight for huge money at his stage of career
Yeah you are prob right I would love to see it though as I think in front of his own crowd Smith could beat AA, I really think he is there for the taking.
