If Pacquiao beat Barrera so convincingly (which he did) what was the point of the rematch? Cherrypicking perhaps?

Good win IMO. Can't discredit Pacquiao's victories pre-2008.

If he wasn't prime, he was really close to it.

Barrera was more aggressive in the mid 90s, although he still possessed boxing skills and showed it at times. He was using his boxing more by the time he fought Pacquiao. He surprised a lot of people in the style he beat Hamed in back in 2001, but it wasn't something he didn't have in his arsenal.

At the time the fight happened, I was happy that Pacquiao won, but I did wonder if Barrera had declined considerably. Although less than 30, he started boxing as a pro very young, and had a lot of mileage on him for most fighters his age.

Then came 2004 when he had a great year.

Barrera made nice comebacks following the losses to Junior Jones, the (official) loss to Erik Morales, and then the loss to Pac.

There's been numerous guys who peaked at 21-23. Every fighter is different.

obviously most of you guys don't even understand "prime".
prime is when you're at your best, meaning at your optimal weight, meaning the fighter is at his best, physically and mentally.

in NO way was mab close to prime at 29. he wasn't even in his true weight class. paq was like 2/3 weight classes above him on fight night.

prime isn't because you are on a winning streak against inferior fighters. most of you need to learn athletics as a whole, never mind boxing

    Money-grabber for both guys.

A pretty pointless fight at that point, but people still bought it.

I believe "peak" and "prime" are different.. He was prime when Pac whipped him.
