Maybe you were watching a different fight, Lewis was the one who was getting staggered left and right. Even the biggest, cleanest sundae punch Lewis landed in his career couldn't faze Dr. Eisenfaust. I know your anti Klitschko bias won't allow you to admit it but Vitali has one of the great chins of all time.

 

I'm going to say Chuvalo, McCall, and then Cobb. I don't know why so many people are so high on Tua, Lennox Lewis hit him with a few right hands and he resigned himself to walking around the outside for the rest of the fight. Quite simply another testament to his overratedness.

 

Go watch the Ibeabuchi fight. You can say whatever you want about Tua but he had a great chin, ridiculous punching power and good cardio and workrate. He sold himself short against Lewis and some other fights by coming in way out of shape but he was a very good fighter.

 

Chuvalo and McCall are near locks.

 

I agree Tua took many shots against Ike but most we're off the top of his head and on the gloves. Very few if any were flush, as well as no big punches with his feet set.

 

1- Gotta go with big George all the way, he survived against Lyle, Fraizer, Norton, in his first career..

2-2nd career, he survived against the bombs of, Moorer, Morrison, Cooney, Holyfield, and even Shannon Briggs at the advanced age of 48, an age most guy's are playing golf, my vote goes to BIG GEORGE ALL THE WAY..

3-CHUVALO, NO EXPLAINING NEEDED...

4-Holmes, in the ring with Ali, Shavers, Cobb, Witherspoon, Holyfield, Mercer, Cooney, Weaver, Norton, AND ONLY STOPPED ONCE BY A PRIME 88 TYSON...

Actually Chuvalo and Holmes are pretty much a toss up in my book...

 

McCall, Tua/James Smith/Tony Tucker/Pinklon Thomas all of the last 4 are too close.

You are a fool. Show me one punch on film that McCall or Tua took that was harder than the shots Sanders or Lewis landed?

Vitali was never down in a long career that went past his 40th birthday.

Chavalo was stopped twice early by Foreman and Frazier, and was down by any alert ref vs Bonavena.

Top three. James Jeffries, Ross Purrity and Vitali Klitschko.

 

Of the champions, I'd say Vitali Klitschko and Muhammad Ali. Among the gatekeepers, I'd say Marion Wilson (fought into his 50s against all the big names and was never knocked out).

Wilson was the most mismanaged fighter I ever saw. He had ability, decent power and one of the best chins of all time ... just no management whatsoever.
