Actually no, Mayweather's "I take all the PPV revenue" started with the phone call in January of 2012. This was after two back-to-back 1 million plus PPV fights for Pacquiao, Mosley at 1.3 million and Marquez at 1.15.

People forget that Pacquiao's popularity was at its PEAK during that time, certainly it wasn't down from after the Cotto fight when Floyd first offered the split.

please stop saying this, by the time Floyd reneged on the 50/50 split Pacquiao was actually at his peak popularity wise and numbers wise.

Actually, to correct my previous statement, Floyd pulled the 50-50 option off the table after Manny had successfully garnered THREE 1 mil plus PPVs in a row (Margarito, Mosley and Marquez III).

EVeryone !!! Go to User CP on the top left corner and edit your ignore list and type in Boxing_Master and press ok. This will hide all the trolling this person been doing since 2013 with a post of 7200 post which is pretty pathetic.

It's a case where the coverup's worse than the crime- throwing Showtime under the bus has the potential to do more long-term damage to him than copping to the accusations would've. Weed in your entourage and extended sparring isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.

It's just not smart business to bite the hand feeding you millions guaranteed by calling their promo show fake and rigged. The smarter move would've been taking the slap on the wrist; there's no way Nevada was really going to punish Floyd. He's too profitable to Vegas.

The fact that everything on the show is staged. That means showtime was well aware of the weed being used in the show. They could have easily edit that part out of the show if it was inappropriate, but they chose to keep it the segment in the name of ratings.
The same as with the extended sparring, this is done pretty much in every Gym getting ready for a fight.
Agin Showtime could have deemed the issue to inappropriate for American television.
But this just goes to show how far the Entertainment business will go to show negative media to youth to get rating.

Which is why Rap sales . Negative publicity sales and showtime is no deferent then any other media outlet cashing in.

And let knot forget they also allow Madiana to point a gun at Floyd Gym as though he was doing a drive by..
With Gun Violence the way it is now, they allowed this ! But as long as Floyd was the intended victim its OK!
But I suppose that was real, and Maidana really did intend to shoot Floyd Gym up :patsch

This was the first give away that all of this was staged!

I doubt this would have been the case if floyd had done it to Garcia's gym..
Everyone would have said Floyd is a criminal that needs to locked away. :patsch
So please lets just Stop with the Bull Sh!T !

So the Mosley that he did fight was a "slow plodder"?

I frankly don't like the way it's marketed and what's presented, either. I think it's pandering. Then again, I doubt I'm the target audience.

My main argument isn't to defend Showtime's creative choices; just that it's probably smartest (from Floyd's perspective) not to upset the apple cart too much with Showtime when you rooked them into giving you $30+ million a fight. If the next PPV tanks, there's a chance they're going to look for ways out of that deal-not likely, but it's there.

Floyd doesn't need to give them the ammo for it.

Agree... Mosley was HELLA fast in his prime. Disputing that is nonsense. The version Floyd and Pac fought though... not even close. He started doing that "hand shake" thing even before Mayorga nearly beat him. The shaking hands are a sure sign of someone struggling to pull the trigger.

Yeah of course.. I agree.. Even Floyd lost speed since his prime.. But you can't consider even an old Mosley a "slow plodder"...

He was shot for sure but for the 2 or 3 rounds he could last before gassing he was dangerous.
