Your right Cloud was not probably #7 anyways, but Ring mag rated him, not me, lol.

People are going to avoid Beterbiev like the plague after the Cloud fight.

It doesn't work like that and for good reason.

Styles make fights, beating the #6 doesn't automatically make you better than the #7.

    Marquez>Pac>Bradley>Marquez.....

Doesn't Vetyeka have more depth than Lomachenko? yet he's below him. Brook was also ranked very high at WW before he had beaten anyone of note.

Rafael Jackieweiz was ranked round about 7th before Brook raped him on national television.

Cloud had only been beaten by Boxers, who sat above him in the rankings and so wouldn't have necessarily lost his place within the top-ten on the strength of those losses.

Now, being beaten by a non-top-tenner, such as Beterbiev, sees Cloud exiting the rankings but it doesn't necessarily follow that Beterbiev automatically fills the spot.

Mohammedi creeps into the top-ten, based on steady progress and an accumulation of reasonable wins; rather than just a single win, perceived as being particularly good.

#7 with Ring? Even so, I think Brook was #3 at one point, that's possibly too high even now.

I think Senchenko was #10 when Brook destroyed him, and Porter 4th.

I think at the time he beat them, 3 is about as many as anyone other than Mayweather and Pacquiao has at 147- at the time he won:

I think all of Mayweather's 10 fights at 147 less Marquez and maybe Hatton was top 10 rated welterweights by The Ring when he fought them.

Pacquiao has 4 wins (Cotto, Clottey, Mosley and Bradley)
Bradley has 2 (Pacquiao and Marquez)
    Marquez has 1 (Pacquiao)
Brook has 3 (Jackiewiez, Senchenko and Porter)
    Maidana has 1 (Broner)
Porter has 2 (Alexander and Malignaggi)
    Thurman has 0
Guerrero has 1 (Aydin- Berto wasn't rated because of a failed PED test)
    Khan has 0
Alexander has 1 (Bailey- Maidana and he had their 1st welterweight fight against each other).

Obviously some of those guys have impressive wins in lower divisions, or wins over guys who have just moved up and been unrated, wins over guys who are just outside the top 10 or in the fights that they lost have been jobbed on the scorecards though.

If it's Don George, he should reserve his hospital room now and hope for a discounted rate.

What'd George do, by the way? I don't know anything about him other than he's a hard-hitting journeyman out of Chicago.

Canada has socialized medicine. George's post fight after care would not cost him a thing.

At 12 years of age he got cought in the act of ***ually assaulting his 5 year old sister.

Some versions of what happened do vary slightly but that one was from a credible source. I have not been a member long enough to post links.

If he continues on the path of destruction then he will be up there within 6 months.

Problem is, he'll be avoided by a lot of people.

I can see some ring warrior like Campillo, Chilemba or Fonfara being willing to fight him, but not carefully matched guys like Stevenson, Ward, Pascal or Dawson.

Eventually Kovalev will fight him, but that fight would be more interesting if Beterbiev beat some other opponents first.
