He just declined officially to move to challenge Korobov for WBO 160 belt, where a win would have lined him up for any number of high profile HBO fights.

Instead he plans to chill out and defend his 154 title. Against whom, I have no idea. Maybe he plans to switch to SHO?

Either way, my hype and excitement for this guy is now gone. He had a chance to step up, but all he wants to talk about is Canelo payday. Where he is at the back of the queue there and he knows it.

Unless he switches to SHO, expecting that his career will stagnate from here.

Its pretty sad really, I thought he could beat Korobov. Apparently he disagrees.

If he is after the Canelo payday he won't find it in Showtime. And Canelo will soon be moving to MW, so a belt at MW would've given him alot of chance for that payday.

ESB favored his chances against Korobov far more than he does, apparently. This also keeps him out of Golovkin's division, thus making Andrade's negative rants about him via social media come from a far safer position.

Why should he fight Korobov at 160? He's a 154 lbs fighter. Pressure to fight Golovkin?

Hes 6'2", and there are no fights for him at 154 on HBO. HBO has a ton of approved B-side guys at 155-160 and thats obviously the weight area HBO intends to be pushing/showcasing. Having a MW belt and being an HBO fighter would also have actually put him in the Cotto/Canelo/GGG mix he claims on twitter to want to be in.

He just didnt want to be in that mix enough to beat Korobov to get there :conf
