I was watching some old light heavy fight and started to wonder, Is Antonio Tarver a Hall of Famer?

His record isn't pretty but it's load with names.

    1) Big victories over Green, Griffen, Woods, Harding, Kayode, Gannon, Muriqi and all three Johnsons (Glen, Reggie, Chris). And of course the Huge Roy Jones victories. Plus he may not be done yet. A Heavyweight Title might be within his reach.

    2) He won a Bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics.

    3) Starred in a Huge movie, and did color commentary.

There are some set backs, like when a out of shape Tarver lost to Hopkins. (Notice how Hopkins still wont give him a rematch.)

The failed drug test. Which is his biggest set back, but if Mosley, Jones, and Toney are going to the Hall, why not Tarver?

So does Tarver go to the Hall of Fame?:think

Maybe the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame but that's about it.

He's got an outside chance, but if I was voting, I wouldn't put him in. He is a disgrace to the Sport with his drug use.

Well he didn't beat kayode (think it was originally a draw and then switched to a no contest). He has several very good wins, but also losses to some of the same people, jones, johnson. The heavyweight experiment feels like a joke, at best he might have a chance against an out of shape chagaev. That being said I would say he is borderline hof worthy

Nope. His claim to fame was chasing down an old Roy Jones, Jr. And even then, Roy won the first fight clearly. He's done nothing ever since and gets caught with PED's. **** the milk dud.

Roid Jones was on PED's for most of his career, Tarver shattered his glass jaw and took his career away from him

If he beat Hopkins than yes probably but he put on one of the worst big fight performances ever and did nothing after

He beat Jones twice and I thought beat Johnson both times

His non effort vs Bhop and schoolings by Dawson hurt his chances

The drug use disappointed me as a fan. But you KNOW Toney, Mosley and Jones are getting in. And Toney was caught TWO times. Mosley lied bold face about it

He shouldn't be but when you have a guy like Arturo Gatti getting in, the argument could be made for Tarver.

    Possibly.

It's not as if the IBHOF has especially high standards.
