If he'd been born in the US he'd be ranked alongside Ali . Pure jealousy that the US hasn't got a HW since Ali to touch him.
A class act who beat some of the biggest, strongest and best guys in history. A man who could shock opponents like Golota and Ruddock with his power or box intelligently against guys like Tua. A gentlemen outside of the ring, a warrior in it, with wins over Tyson, Holyfield, Vitali, and Bowe as an amateur (as a pro, he had to satisfy himself with scaring Bowe into throwing a belt into a garbage can after shitting himself). I honestly believe that Lewis could come back no at 50-ish and beat a lot of these guys.
Love him or hate him, you won't find a TRUE fightfan across the globe that doesnt have him in their top 5 ATM......:nono In 10-15 yrs.....Lennox Lewis and GOAT will be synonymous across the globe.:think
Hard to disagree with this, although both Ali and Tyson were famous as much for their personalities as their ring performances. And even if Lewis were American he still might not have generated the type of publicity those two did.
Bowe , was like Mayweather with Paquaio, regarding Lennox. Riddick knew in his heart he could never beat him just same with Floyd. Lenmnox has been offered $millions to come back but he is adamant. When Ive quit I've quit for good He made the right decision
IDK about the right decision. His legacy was sealed when he beat Tyson. His pockets would have overflowed if he'd have gotten the RJJ fight. But that PESKY Klitschko feller stood in his way of an $80 mil PPV.
To me Muhammad Ali was the only fighter Ive seen that could , & probably would, beat Lennox at 100% But man what a fight that would have been
" From LONDON, ENGLAND " when he is introduced is all you need to know to explain the irrational hatred.
Then the thread should be about Larry Holmes All jokes aside is Lewis that far ahead in Greatness than Tyson or Holyfield? Both also probably give Ali a good go too
Larry was good but not great Plus don't forget Lennox beat Tyson & Vander twice but was robbed first time. both avoided Lennox as long as possible
