    nobody avoided Lennox,

Tyson fought Holyfield for more money.

Holyfield fought Bowe and Tyson a combined 5 times, in the meantime Lewis was getting knocked out by Tysons sparring partner

A shot to **** Tyson who was then stopped quicker by Danny Williams.

A past his prime Holyfield who could of arguably been given the nod in the second fight.

Holmes would of taken away Lewis' jab, Lewis always struggled when people could match him for size or jab.

Whilst Holmes was destroyed by peak Tyson he gave prime Holyfield the fight of his life whilst being ancient himself. The same Holyfield who when past prime gave a prime Lewis all the trouble in their rematch.

And finally we have Ray Mercer who arguably beat Lewis, who then avoided a rematch with Mercer even after Ray was begging for one. And Holmes and next to no trouble with Mercer.

You have to remember a forty + year old Holmes was still hanging with alleged baddest men in Lewis' era quite comfortably.

Here you're wrong buddy. Evander never ever avoided anyone in his career, if he beat Bowe in 92, he would've fought Lennox next. In 94 the match was talked about, but Holy lost to Moorer and Lewis was knocked out by McCall.

Holyfield finally met Lewis at his 15th year as a pro, not a prime Evander (Lewis' whole career lasted only 14 years). So past prime 37 y.o. Holy was eager to fight Lenny and prime 30 y.o. wasn't? No way, with all respect to you.

What a load of bull. Lewis isn't the best HW since Ali. Holmes is better and Holyfield too. You never saw those guys blasted out early when they held the title by guys like McCall or Rahman. :nono

And they actually faced the other top fighters in their era when it mattered. Lewis faced an aging and declining Holyfield and a totally washed up Tyson - and he never faced Bowe at all.

Lewis is grossly overrated by some boxing fans, as this thread so clearly demonstrates. He wasn't even the best HW of the era in which he fought, let alone the best since Ali!:patsch

we can flip flop and trash every fighter's resume.you are pure Lewis hater if you rate Holmes and Holyfield without a doubt higher than Lewis.

Holmes we could argue but no Holyfield.Holy lost against Bowe in his prime,Lewis schooled Bowe already in the amateurs, and everybody knows one of the greatest duckjobs in the history done by Bowe.also lost to Moorer, and beat past his prime Tyson.
and is 1-0-1 against Lewis.Lewis is widely consired as the best HW in 90's.

Holyfield was great,i don't deny that.but to rate him higher than Lewis is little bit silly, atleast to me and many historians also agree.

yes Lewis has 2losses,but he avenged both of those losses.Holy did not.there is not lot of material to hang on Holyfield nuts and claim him better than Lewis

Who was P4P #3 when they first fought and lost both fights easilly. The only reason people say Holyfield "arguable won" the second fight is because he actually made a fight of that one - winning four to five rounds as opposed to only three to four - but he still clearly lost.

Everyone has an opinion & that's how it should be. In my book Lennox beat Holyfield reasonably easy both times. Don't forget Lennox took Tyson & King to court over Tyson avoiding Lennox. Don King paid Lennox $4 mil to step aside and let Tyson fight on the promise he'd be next in line. As we all know that never happened

And Lewis fought Vitali Klitschko than retired.

Lewis sued King for not allowing Tyson to fight on the Kirk Johnson-Lennox Lewis undercard at Staples Center; which became the Vitali Klitschko-Lennox Lewis fight.

Lewis claimed King used Death threats towards him.

I believe Tyson was scheduled to fight either Oleg Maskaev or Lyle McDowell on that Staples Center card.

If he had of fought against (and won) Byrd and Wladimir he may have become the goat.

Im a lewis fan and call bull****. Great video, great champion. But his ranking all time (6th by myself) is crazy impressive and probably eould have been higher if notbfor surprise losses to lesser fighters.

actually, you need to get your facts correct. Lewis was Tysons mandatory, Tyson fought Holyfield for more money, he got over $30m for each fight.

Secondly Tyson severed ties with Don King after those fights

Thirdly was banned from boxing and didn't return until 99 when he was banned again for a year when he was found with marijuana.

Partially correct. Lewis was the mandatory, but Tyson relinquished the WBC belt, which Lewis ended up fighting (and defeating) Oliver McCall for the vacant WBC Heavyweight title.
