Or Lebedev. Or Huck. Whichever one wins will get found out as soon as they step up. Clev in particular should have stayed at SMW.
Clev should have stayed at Super-Middle?? Do agree though, can't see either of them (as much as I'd like to see Clev do well) being able to hang with those 3. Hopefully I'm proved wrong.
What is making you think that? I think eddie will have selective memory after bellew wins in a controversial decision at home. That will set up a lucrative rubber match.
Not saying he didn't, if Brudov didn't crack him in the bollocks Bellew was in trouble (7th or 8th round was it?)... doesn't take away the fact he put him away with some heavy shots.
Maybe in hindsight he should of moved up straight away. but once he started on a path post cleverly 2011 of fighting the eliminators etc think it was too late to move up, thought the initial post read like he;d been having a few pointless fights at LHW, bit like Khan did at LWW after his loss to Garcia, rather than moving up straight away.
in terms of the bet? Just think cleverly is an all round better boxer, who will out work him. if this is indeed an eliminator think the winners going to challenge for the WBO belt?, don't think they'd be an immediate rematch anyway, maybe one that festers for a few years again if the decision is controversial.
dont worry about lebedev, huck or afolabi. look no further than usyk who would do both in his next few fights.
Usyk looks a bit special doesn't he! That said, Usyk might be the next big thing coming through at CW, but Beterbiev who likewise is seemingly the next big thing smashing his way through the LHW division, I read went 1-2 with Usyk (which apparently one fight could have gone either way). Usyk was also either dropped or got a standing count as well (unsure of which)... baring in mind Usyk stands up to HW's. Beterbiev beat Kovalev twice as well. Basically Clev and Bellew would be damned either way.. Usyk up at CW or Beterbiev at LHW. Some ****ing fighters coming out of Eastern Europe at the moment.
Bellew WAS dead at the weight, IMO. But he's just piled on the pounds instead of packing on quality mass @ CW. So he isn't any better off.
I'm not a fan of either man in particular, just looking forward to a decent fight. When Bellew says 'dead at the weight' I believe he simply means because he had to drop to fight weight quickly as he was a late replacement.
