They are only linked in the minds of Klit fans.

In reality, neither Klit is qualified to carry either Lewis or Tyson's jock strap.

They were both the best fighter that each ever faced.

Yes isn't close because Ruddock was better.
    Say a good win by v. klitschko.I couldn't.
    Ruddock beat Smith,Dokes,Weaver,Page etc.

Vitali's bests. 38 years old fat,glass-chinned unathletic Sanders
38 years old Briggs(Maybe Briggs is an asthma problematic person). But Qutali klitschko couldn't knock him out.

Ruddock vs Quitali ? An interesting common opponent:
    Faded Ruddock-ribalta wko1
Prime klitschko-ribalta wtko2 (I think Ribalta fought in fever)

The prime Ruddock fought in stronger era.
Vitali klitschko beat mediocre or crap fighters.

I think this Ruddock beat Lewis in amateur.
Vitali Klitschko hasn't good win at all.:hi:

Because Vitali's resume is that abysmal, there is little to talk about other than his valiant losing effort vs a semi-retired heavy Lewis.

    That's the bottom line.

Obviously they are linked around here because they clashed in Lewis' last fight, but in the grander scheme, I think the link Lewis has with Vitali is weaker than links he has with Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe (even though they never fought professionally), and Rahman.

Its just by Klit fans because loss to Lewis in their eyes shows how great K brothers are :D

That's like saying "Lewis didn't do enough to get a fight with Hide".

He was the heavyweight king, recognized legitimately as the top fighter in the division, it was not his responsibility to go chasing after fighters who were happy just defending the WBO belt and weren't actively seeking to make fights with him.

In hindsight, sure, it would have been good for his legacy to have fought Wlad, but it wasn't Lewis's fault that the fight didn't happen. Wlad did nothing to make a fight with Lewis.

A lot will depend on what happens when Wlad retires. Lewis's wins over Vitali and Briggs true worth only became relevant years later for instance. Likewise prior to the Price fights Klitschko's two wins over Tony Thompson didn't get the respect they deserved. As you'll remember Price was considered as going to be "at least as good as Wladimir Klitschko" by the many Brits on here. Thompson's two stunning KO's over him would be the equivalent of someone doing the same to Wilder now.

Who's to say the likes of Povetkin and Haye wont go on to have great careers in the post Wladimir era. Hell Pianeta and Wach could possibly do something then as well. Both are still young for their style of boxing.
