    Because he beat an UNTESTED slugger like Kovalev? Who has Kovalev ever beat, so far? The guy is funny and entertaining, but who has he ever beat?

    Nobody.

    And beating him would only raise Calzaghe's stock, anyway.

    Never understood why people always make this mistake, repeatedly when it is totally untrue and lacks any real credibility.

    Styles make fights and Calzaghe had a style that Hampered BHOP's ability to look good against him. He didn't beat BHOP as much as thawed his performance.

    Just because BHOP beats Kovalve doesn't mean that Calzaghe would also.
    Styles make fights, and Hopkins win over Kov will have absolutely zero impact on Calzaghe's legacy.

    Hopkins already beats Calzaghe head2head p4p and everything related to boxing

    Clearly won the fight but got robbed
    Fought way better competition and way more opponents that were in their prime
    his middleweight and light heavyweight run separately are each better than Calzaghe's whole career

    TS is being absolutely ridiculous. I agree with everything here except Hopkins being robbed. It was a close fight but overhyped Joe outworked the old man.

    Joe always found a way to win - by fighting.

    Nard dog always found a way to spoil a fight and often lost.

    Retiring as an undefeated 2 division champ and having Bernards scalp hanging from his belt, means this legacy is cemented.

    Lol. If Hopkins beats Kovalev I'd have him slightly above Slappy, but still not enough to be above the great Chad Dawson or the ATG legend killer Jermain Taylor.. :deal

    Hopkins is so far ahead of Calzaghe in terms of ATG he would need a telescope to find him behind him.
