Any fight by Eddie Cotton. What an incompetent, biased imbecile. He was one inch away from disqualifying Lewis for knocking out Mike Tyson.

The ref who officiated the Duran - Moore fight was pretty awful, Moore almost got killed in that fight. It went about a 1/2 round too long.

Ramon Berumen- refereeing the first Napoles-Muniz fight. He never took any points from Muniz, yet claimed he had butted Napoles in the 3rd and 5th rounds. In the 9th - with Napoles' title appearing to be slipping away - he allowed Napoles to deliver (by my count) app. 11 flagrant low blows to the point where Muniz was actually raising his leg in protection when Napoles would get close. Muniz later said the reason he did not retaliate was because he felt Beruman was waiting to immediately DQ him. Beruman stopped it on the doctors orders in the 12th and claimed because of a butt in the 3rd and 5th that Napoles gets it on a tech. decision.

Steve Smoger - refereeing Lou Savarese against Lance Whitaker. Whitaker put Lou down in the 6th and during his count, between 8 and 9 he is audibly heard coaxing Lou up. Lou got up and went on to win the decision.

Harold Valan - aside from his controversial decisions where he was the sole arbiter in Patterson-Ellis and Terrell-Wepner, I recently watched the Duane Bobick-Chuck Wepner fight. Oh, man, he just allows Wepner to keep thumping Bobick with rabbit punches the whole fight.

just recently Kenny bayliss in mayweather maidana 2, and pat Russell in the brook vs porter fight. they were terrible and allowed the eventual winners to clinch ruthlessly in practically every single exchange, with zero admonishment.
Mills Lane nearly let don curry kill Milton mcrory when he was defenceless after somehow regaining his feet after currys famous left hook.
Carlos Padilla's stoppage of benitez was bullsh1t.
mentioned earlier, but the ref in the duran vs moore fight was disgraceful as was the moore coorner.

Joe Louis didn't have a good night as the referee of the second bout between Joe Frazier and Jerry Quarry in which he should have stopped the bout much sooner and saved Quarry from taking a lot of unnecessary punishment.

Ian John Lewis had one of the worst performances in Klitschko-Briggs fight, where he should've stopped the fight in 7th, or after 7th, or after 10th or on few other occasions. Briggs suffered many damages in that fight.

This was my pick, too. Laurence Cole's performances in several fights (e.g. Salido-Lomachenko, Juarez-Raheem) were pretty inept.

Quite agree, guys. You can see José Torres at ringside going ballistic at the ineptitude of the ref!

The referee in the Benn-McClellan fight was awful, too.

Richard Steele deserves a mention for letting Ray Leonard get away with multiple offences against Hagler in their 1987 fight.

Referee Dan Kelley and two of the judges did a terrible job in the bout between Courtney Burton and Emanuel Augustus during 2004.

Referee Robert Gonzalez seemed extremely biased against Zahir Raheem when Raheem was fighting Rocky Juarez in Houston, Juarez's hometown, during 2004. Raheem had points deducted for "holding behind the head" in the fourth, sixth and tenth rounds.

Referee Guy Jutras overlooked a tremendous number of fouls committed by Eusebio Pedroza in his bout with Juan Laporte during 1982. Pedroza had only two points deducted and retained his WBA world featherweight title by winning an unanimous decision after fifteen rounds.

Both Lewis and Brigg's own corner were criminally at fault there imo.

Arthur Mercante Jr.- Cotto vs Foreman and countless others. A fighter was killed in the ring in one fight he was a referee in.

Richard Steele- A long list of fights.
