because they are both boring big men with boring personalities and boring/reluctant styles in the ring.

This is a good question as on paper it could well be Lewis best win.
remember Vitali had already been a world champ and had beaten quality opposition as well as going on to be a force at HW.
On the other hand, Lewis was being beaten and by Vitali and looked troubled by Vitalis awkward style.

So how do we look at it? On paper or factually?

On paper yes it was a great win

I haven't bashed Lewis. Merely assessed his career. Within the last 24hrs I've said Lewis had a real chance to become the GOAT HW had he managed to scalp Wladimir Klitschko and Chris Byrd. Some bashing that is.

Why don't people on here understand that everyone ages differently? Holyfield and Hopkins were able to fight into their 40s, while fighters like Tyson and Benitez peaked early, and were past their primes by their 20s.

"Lennox Lewis is a big pu ssy....

    cat."
    -George Foreman

Yes, he actually said this in the second Holyfield/Lewis fight commentary during the PPV broadcast. And there was a long delay before he added "cat" which still isn't very flatterying.

Which Foreman also scored for Holyfield. Meaning if you take his word, Lewis was not the rightful undisputed CHampion.

How do you think these fellows above (Ear of the Year) and The Lion would have fared against our pal Smokin' Bert Cooper?:think

Every single HW who was a somebody in the 90s took the Bert Cooper test.

Foreman, Moorer, Bowe, Holyfield, Byrd, Mercer, Corrie Sanders, ..etc.

Every single HW except...Lennox Lewis. What was he hiding? Would he have passed the Bert Cooper test? Why did he duck it?

    :think

Smokin' Bert would have perhaps found that suspect chinny...me thinks anyways. I was going to see his comeback against McCall but it was shortly cancelled.

its so obvious you have never met Lennox. He is not aloof or arrogant his problem is shyness. He knows boxing inside & out but had difficulty speaking about it If its ego you want look no farther than Jones jr ,
Kellerman & Lampley. Lennox was not cut out to be a broadcaster he doesn't have, as the Brits say, the gift of the gab

Lewis was too busy running and planning his escape route from a WBC mandated rematch with Vitali to entertain the possibility of fighting other challengers.

Vitali challenged the golfer in the ring right after he KO'd his little brother. Wlad was in the ring when Vitali was having his hissy fit. Did he challenge Lennox??? No he hid quietly in the corner. Wlad was SCCCCCCARED

Wladimir Klitschko was not scared. He was in talks for a rematch with Corrie Sanders who defeated him 3 monthes before the Vitali Klitschko-Lennox Lewis fight.

Wladimir stated after the Sanders fight that he wanted the rematch that he had the Rights too.
