10 years unbeaten, smashed all the best HWs in Pride FC and beat 5 UFC hw champions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSGAtH8KqAg Anybody that can survive that is inhuman, the fact that he won about 30 seconds after that shows what an monster he was.
That's insane. I saw it about 5-6 years ago and it was insane then and it's insane now. I use to wrestle in university and when I was first learning a guy who was one of the best in the province was teamed up with me and he introduced me to the fireman carry and I landed on my head. Afterwards I realized I was lucky I didn't end up with a broken neck. This was the same only worse, because Randleman had his full weight coming down on him as well. And if I recall correctly, Fedor won that fight. The guys he would fight were often 50lb+ over him and he still found ways to win.
If he stayed away from the ice cream cones Fedor could have easily fought at a lower weight. Emelianenko = GOAT.
And to think that he DOMINATED for so long without a modern training camp is frightening. He trained in school playgrounds for years in end. Easily the greatest fighter to have ever lived.
Not this again. Yes, his record was spectacular but it's not like he was steamrolling people. He handled the pressure of being a national hero beautifully and he always found a way to win...period. My point is that he was a hell of a fighter, but it is utter nuthuggery to call him " the greatest fighter who ever lived".
STFU, Fedor beat giants that were roided out. They easily had 50 lbs on him. Let me guess you think Jon Jones is the greatest? Beating guys with eye pokes and with a 84 inch reach against LHW's. These type of fans are the reason MMA is in the shitter. No one really cares about Jones or Rousey. When Fedor was around people actually believed in the sport because the athletes represented something more. Fedor represented Bushido. He was an ideal, something more than a man. Fedor inspired. No one is inspired by weight cutters trying to beat on small men or women.
Fedor's still the GOAT in my book, but I won't deride anyone for picking Anderson Given both of their accomplishments, it’s really just a popularity contest. I prefer Fedor’s highly technical Judo/Sambo skills combined with an exciting approach to fighting where he threw gameplans out the window and defeated the best HWs in the world by beating them at their own games for a decade, all while basically being a LHW frame. Anderson was a late bloomer. He really brought everything together when he was able to pair his already amazing striking and traditional martial arts background with Nogueira’s mentoring in BJJ. He takes a more cautious approach to fighting, but still manages to be spectacular with his unique and unparalleled mix of techniques, agility, speed, and reaction time.
