Show me where Wlad try to enforce a rematch clause. You cant. All you have is a link showing Sanders camp talking about it. Fight never happened just like Vits didnt go after a Byrd rematch. Both brothers decided to let the more suitable brother take care of their problems for each other instead of doing it themselves. FACT!!! :yep
No, not fact. It's your skewed and biased opinions. Both brothers were promoted by Universum in that time, they didn't call their own shots as they did 2004+ when they broke free of Klaus Peter Kohl. When Sanders and Byrd beat Wlad and Vitali respectively, Universum had options on them and called the shots. Sanders vacated and broke his contract to avoid the rematch clause. Byrd was forced to fight Wlad instead of Vitali again because Byrd didn't want to sit out while Vitali healed from surgery. Universum said fine, you want to fight....you fight our fighter Wlad so Universum would keep the title in the stable. Look it up, it's all out there in black in white!
So their promoter was scared and ducked those rematches? Ok. Why did neither try to avenge the embarrassments after that? :think
Lol, you're just like a klit. You ducked me only to let your brother step in. Only difference is she got schooled too!! :rofl
No I just stopped conversing with you because you are a pugnacious, ignorant whelp who ignores facts that don't fit with your agenda. I have no more time to engage in an pointless argument with a fool like yourself. Another shithead to the ignore list. Bye:hi:
In my book he retired as one of the greates HW champs of all time... but if I do promise something I keep my promise so a rematch as one last fight wouldn´t be the worst thing... ...but if his mother told him not to fight Vitali again I can also respect that...
Did you not even read what I wrote? Sanders broke the contract with Universum to get out of rematching Wlad, Byrd was contractually obligated by Universum to face Wlad if didn't want to wait for Vitali to return. Clear enough for you? There is no evidence to suggest that Universum didn't want Vitali and Wlad to avenge their own losses. After Byrd beat Vitali then lost to Wlad, he signed with DK and went on the IBF strap path, Vitali was on path to the WBC belt that Lewis had. Let's make another thing clear, Vitali was clearly beating Byrd. Fighting him again was unneccesary. After Sanders beat Wlad then lost to Vitali, Sanders was out of the title picture, while Wlad was still highly rated by the WBO and after 2 quick tune-ups he was back to a title shot against Brewster. Was he supposed to forego a title shot to chase down a semi-retired Sanders? There's no upside there.
Ugh, this topic has been beat to death. Wlad had a contractual rematch but he could not legally enforce it due to a clause that states Sanders had the right to a voluntary defense first, which he exerecised. Corrie Sanders will be allowed one voluntary defence of the WBO heavyweight title he so easily wrenched from Wladimir Klitschkos grasp before he is contractually obligated to fight the 1996 Olympic champion once again. http://www.secondsout.com/world-boxing-news/world-boxing-news/klitschkos-rematch-clause Sanders chased Roy Jones Jr., Lennox Lewis, and others but this went on too long so the WBO mandated his once voluntary defense would now have to be against Brewster. Sanders got pissed, dumped the WBO belt and challenged Vitali for the WBC and RING title. Sanders than retired. Add in the promotional conflicts and this thing was just a big mess. In truth, Wlad appeared to want a rematch, he talked about it constantly, and did everything he could. But the aging Sanders was well within his rights to seek out a deserved payday with his new found name value. Vitali just happened to be the only guy who would take the chance on him.
Neither of them EVER tried to avenge those losses, this is a fact no matter how much you spin and twist. Lets make another thing clear, Byrd was clearly in the fight with Vits making him miss and even backing up a guy he gave up 40lbs and 6" to. In FACT Vits landed only one more punch per round for the entire fight. This is why the German fans were going crazy cheering for Byrd. After the fight Vittles got on the mic, apologized and promised to get his belt back. He never did.
