Usyk should have the power to force a stoppage inside the first half of the fight against this dude.

    Round 7

Bruwer is obliging Usyk, walking straight to him as Usyk pops each heel off the canvas dancing around, drifting out in zigzagging patterns around the ring, changing directions, making Bruwer spend all his energy on travel. Lunging lead left jab by Bruwer, easily dodged as Usyk dives down and to his left. Quick right jabs paddling the nose of Bruwer as Usyk shuffles counterclockwise. Bruwer is annoyed, shrugging at Usyk as though imploring him to brawl. Bruwer tries trapping Usyk's right glove and clutching it. Usyk hits the body with his left, sapping the wind from Bruwer. Double right jab thrown by Usyk while hopping backwards with Bruwer in pursuit, hands down like a palooka. Hard downward slapping left on the jaw by Usyk. Bruwer is knocked down and OUT!! Bruwer sprang up but was deemed in no position to continue.

    TKO7!!

Usyk outdid his fellow southpaw Alexeev by over 90 seconds. (this was the end of the 7th, whereas Bruwer last until midway into the eighth with the Uzbek)

    RIGHT?

That left uppercut on the body came from nowhere. I think it contributed substantially to Usyk getting the KO.

One moment Bruwer is coming after Usyk, nothing in the way but some meek little button-pusher right jabs Usyk piddled out while virtually running in reverse.

Then, SLAM-O! Bruwer nearly doubled over, I thought he'd vomit. From there Usyk basically had pick of the litter and could have finished him with anything he wanted. He chose a very crowd-pleasing left blackjack across the kisser resulting in the always-fun big-man face-plant.

Time for Oleksandr to step it up before he becomes another Deontay.
Was his 5th fight already... slacker :bart

I get the feeling Bruwer only made the seventh because Usyk wanted to extend himself a bit. This is his first time seeing action past the fifth (and that only happened in his debut).

The first three at least definitely had a light sparring feel. Usyk didn't seem to really "clock in" for work until the fourth.

The big event tonight is Gonzalez vs. Arce, if anybody thinks otherwise they DKSAB.
