Ok Einstein, since I'm so dumb - here is your opportunity to explain, in detail, why. The floor is yours, Genius.
Stevens loss here devalues one of GGG’s "big" KOs. GGG absorbed several of those left hooks, took the heart out of Stevens, and bludgeoned him into submission. But in retrospect Stevens just didn’t have the wherewithal to make adjustments against Golovkin. When the left hook landed and didn’t work, that was really it. GGG does evidently have a granite chin, along with heavy hands and great footwork. What he doesn’t have is career defining fights on his resume, and he’s 33. I’m not blaming Golovkin, but this fight really makes a Quillen fight attractive. N’Dam looked like a well schooled fighter, and I have to credit Quillen with getting the better of him now. I guess I just wish there were options other than Andre Ward for GGG, because I think he loses that fight. If he does so without beating Quillen, Canelo, or somebody else more credible than Danny Geale, I don’t think his resume proves a lot. His dwindling critics have a point. Ripeness is all, and GGG needed Maravilla in his prime to prove his place in boxing. No one is going to think much about stopping Stevens, who probably got a gift stoppage against Tureano Johnson (great fight) too, when they look at GGG’s resume in the future. Damn Al Haymon for keeping Peter Quillen busy with lesser fighters. I hope Danny Jacobs beats him. What good is it to box if you won’t rise to the challenge that comes? This is frustrating really.
Who gives a **** where GGG's from he's always rockin a badass kimono into the ring, better than Red's from Pineapple Express. I do have a complaint, everybody tryin to be Mexican (GGG, Gradovich, Tomoki K), but it's ok. They're only trying to be great.
