Billy had a very special relationship with Ricky and has had the best success of his career so far with him. It's understandable that Billy is going to still back him to the hilt because of those times and the amount of time they spent with each other over the years!! Ricky will be like a son to him.

 

ricky like a son, dont make me laugh. the beating he let him take with a broken jaw shows that billy thinks more of himself than he does his fighters. his job is to look after his fighters and on that occasion he failed.
he done wonders for ricky getting him the world titles but in one fight he has undone all the good work he did by ruining his fighter and trust me ricky will never recover. just like john murray has never recovered from joe gallagher letting him take a needless beating agains brandon rios.

 

Billy couldn't have known the extent of the injury there was no blood and no physical evidence of how serious it was the only thing that showed he was injured was Ricky saying "my jaw's ****ed" in the corner.
