ESPN reported no such thing. According to both Oscar and Stiverne's manager, who were quoted, the postponement was asked for because they had come to terms but when King sent the paperwork/contract over it specified no date and no city ... and that those are in question because at this time there is no network attached to the fight.

wbc should implement the purse bid now. it's clear they can't agree on terms. no more delays

Considering King is involved, I think the fight will be made....sometime in early 2016.....in Venezuela.

    Very probably.

He knows he can make big bucks out of the situation. Like the op said, if this goes to pursebids it's pretty obvious that we can expect Jay-Z to drive up the purse bid amount to insane.
With King being known to take somewhere between 20-30% of his fighter's purse, it's obvious why he's either trying to enforce pursebids or a huge offer out of Haymon himself.

Call King what you want, but in this case I would do the exact same thing.

Wilder needs to keep running and K.O. more alcoholics trying to pay off gambling debts. The first time he throws a shitty haymaker and Stiverne hits him clean with a counter right it's gonna shatter that shameful glass jaw and the hype train will finally die.

Sooner or later, Stiverne will need to man up and face Wilder.

If King forces a purse bid he can make his fighter and himself more money. The WBC trying to help Haymon by constantly postponing the bid.
