Surprise! Two Floyd-haters. Floyd was a bit stunned, but I wouldn't consider it "saved by the bell". I think Maidana would've definitely capitalized on it though, scored a knockdown at least but not a KO. Would've been real interesting to see.

I've heard people say he could barely stand and the ropes held him, false.

Holyfield vs Bert Cooper. Holyfield's glove busted. They had to get him a replacement glove.

The referee did that, but Bute went down at 2:54 as you can see on the on screen clock, of the 12th and was up inside 8 or max 9 seconds. But didn't even have to be (IBF rules state he only needed to start rising within 10 after full time). The referees count was corrupt but completely unnecessary because Bute had already been saved by the bell and the IBF rules that were in effect.
One of the most clear instances of a fighter being saved by the bell if it wasn't for the corrupt referee drawing all the attention to him and make it controversial while it shouldn't have been.

Another nice controversial one was McPhilbin vs Enzo Mac in wich the timekeeper saved Enzo by sounding the bell 47 seconds early. Looked like a clear case of an official purposely saving one fighter, because he couldn't have been mistaken like what you sometimes see a 2 or 4 minute round (like Golovkin vs Geale round 1)

Surprise! Alexthegaymc rushing to Floyd's defense! Funny, you contested our choice yet then go on to pretty much agree, just not quite to the extent. Keep to making your wank music nobody cares for mate.

Gatti was saved by the bell (Ref poised to intervene ) and came back still to lose as did Micky Ward.. but these fights were Roller coaster 'sall over the place...

Being literally saved by the bell... and coming back to win.. thats Special
Archie Moore against Durelle was certainly a case
Frank Bruno was literally Knocked-out...Went rigid and did not fall..Against
Floyd "Jumbo" Cummings...And came back to win on a Ko
Earnie Shavers had a Very Close Shave against Jeff Sims

There has actually been a fight in the ye olde days wherw a guy got KO'd clean and was saved by the bell being completely removed from his senses. Afterwards he was declared the winner om points.

Will look it up when I get home

Alex you cant say Chino would have NOT have scored a KO , because none of us will ever know for sure .

Had there been another minute left , Chino could have possibly smother Floyd with a barrage of punches , Floyd would have definitely went down and who knows whether or not he would have beaten the count .

That punch when it connected had him clearly staggered and vulnerable , he was open and there to be hit .

Had there been more time left in that rnd , Maidana could have seriously hurt him even further and potentially scored a TKO .

People can indeed make an argument that the bell saved Floyd .

    Its definitely debatable .

Max Baer MD 10 Ernie Schaaf

"The bell deprived Baer of a knock-out victory. Two seconds before the fight ended Schaaf was knocked flat on his face, completely knocked out. He was dragged to his corner and his seconds worked on him for three minutes restoring him to his senses." (Associated Press).

Hahahahaha.Imagine if Ernie ended winning the decision after being knocked out cold and gettin saved by the final bell. He almost won on points.
