this guy seems pretty polarizing. there are people legitimately calling him the best and there are others asking "well who did he beat"

    what say you?

under rated by most, over rated by some. some people refuse to acknowledge he is late 30's and its starting to show.

I do however , see ariza helping drastically in his last couple/few fights

Guy looked great against Canelo and Guerrero. After the Maidana fights his stock plummeted.

I have a feeling that Maidana just had an extremely awkward style.

I have to wait to see how he looks in his next fight to decide whether he is on the decline or not.

Depends if you're reading nonsense from MVC or Boxing_Master. They're to two polar opposites of the idiocy on both 'sides'.

This. I think he's the same guy that fought Canelo. Watching his fights after he served time you can see his balance is just a bit off and his reaction time has slowed down slightly. None of these have had too dramatic of an effect yet though. Still top 3 boxing today.

This. No one has an easy night against this version of Maidana.

Both. People who say **** like "there is no blueprint" or "he can even beat Golovkin" or "no one at or around welter is a challenge", they overrate him. Then you got guys that say he loses to everyone he didn't fight, they underrate him.

he's arguably the best technical fighter on film and the only defensively complete boxer ever. he's heavily underrated for his great attributes.

right now I'd say overrated mostly by his haters Mayweather is by a margin still the best in the sport and him consistently fighting high profile fighters coming off high profile wins is something more of these younger fighters should do to establish themselves.

Saying that though at this point this guys legend has grown so big he can't even fight champions in his weight class without it being looked at as a bad matchup and if he doesn't fight MW's in some cases SMW's in his 6th division he's ducking the guy is good but at damn near 40 not THAT good.

Not sure about that. Technically, Floyd, BHop, and Ward might be better like someone else mentioned. But Rigo is definitely the quickest, strongest, and most athletic of the 4.

Ward and BHop use a lot of "veteran" tactics. Floyd is starting to. Rigo will be there soon.
