Joshua will be jumping from 8 rounds against bums to 12 rounders against higher level journeymen.

I would have preferred him to have face Lewison for the Southern Area. Lewison is a good trash talker and would have been good on a bill even though it would not have lasted long

He could have then met McDermott for the English belt which would be a good yard stick against Price & Fury.

Then a EU belt against someone like Wach or Pianetta

I think as long if it's not Lituanian capdrivers, Georgian welders or Polish plummers the international way is the way to go.

There's really a difference between fighting some decently skilled guy from some foreign country as someone from the same level from your own neck of the woods.

hes above the southern area title and there is no point winning the English if he can get a winnable british title fight now imo

He really should be challenging for the British title now as he beats Cornish easily. It's rather disgraceful that the title has been held up for a fight where the winner will likely vacate the title immediately.

Southern Area, English title etc are for people who are unlikely to go much further.

Nobody who is likely to be fighting on the world stages is going to waste their time picking up these minor belts.

not always realistic though because it means you can lose out on paydays that may not come round for a second time, I mean Haye never even won the British title.

I agree. Olympic champions should not be fighting for the Southern Area and English Titles. Leave them for lower level guys who arn't going to get beyond that level.
