Corrie Sanders had Wladimir Klitschko down and nearly out in the first round .The bell saved him from a ko . During the minutes rest Wlad's corner are panicky, one drops a small bucket another coming in from the left side opens a small container, unfortunately the footage cuts back to the first round , and we don't see it being used, again we see the corner man with the container, but before it can be utilised and the reaction to it seen, the tape again cuts back to the first round. My question is what was in that container , is it petroleum jelly, or something else?
When 11 USA heavies declined to meet Wlad, Sanders was called. Wlad took Sanders lightly, and paid for it. It was a high risk, low reward type of fight vs. a fast-handed power puncher with history of starting fast and finishing other boxers early. Lewis and Tyson’s management in my opinion steered clear of Sanders, but often used his name as possible opponent to the press. Back then Unviersum was new to pro boxing. They didn't use enswell, and should have sprinkled water on Wlad after a rough first round. The corner work was rather inept. Wlad’s style in the early years was that of a destroyer who didn’t understand the how to use his jab for defense or when to clinch. His guard was a bit lower as well. Wlad later developed better defensive skills under the tutelage of Steward. Credit Sanders for the upset. He was in shape for this fight.
Who knows? It could have been any number of things I suppose. Whatever it was, it did him little good.
None of this post has anything remotely to do with the question the thread asked. Sanders had 3 rounds of boxing in the previous two years!
That is because he had a 1st and 2nd round KO win. But don't let the facts get in the way of formulating your opinion.

You're such Wlad ass licker , its beyond ridiculous. You can make an excuse a fighter lost because he got hit on the chin. Wald got his ass handed to him , fair and square, end of story.
Identifying the content in the container is inconclusive from the footage available. It does Appear however to be a non issue. Certaintly doesn't appear to be any sort of stimulant as Wlad's corner shows no urgency to administer it to their fighter. Wlad's body language and expression also doesn't seem to change much from the end of round one to the start of round two. He in fact appears to be the most calm and clear headed member of his entire corner during the sixty second break., my guess is it may be a coagulant for the cut he suffered. I couldn't even tell if it was applied. His corner certaintly was panicked and just goes to show you what a great corner can do for a great fighter.
