Jones was robbed in the Olympics but I think it did him more good than harm. It gave him the perfect excuse not to fight outside the US the fear of being robbed again

Wait, if Roy beat Gonzalez, who beat Michalczewski, does that mean Roy was the lineal champion?

 

Roy was never technically the lineal champion.. Erdei was for the longest time.

Roy fought Tarver shortly after Gonzalez beat DM... In my opinion, Roy vs. Tarver winner was clearly the man of the division.

 

But he beat Hill, who was the former lineal champion, and Gonzalez, who would later become the lineal champion.

Why didn't Roy fight Tarver back in 2001-2002?

 

Tarver lost an eliminator fight against Eric Harding.. Roy fought the winner of that fight.

 

Maybe memory served me wrong but I thought it had to do with Rjj demanding the fight be on US soil. Roy being the bigger name deserved that demand.

 

Would you say that RJJ cleaned out LHW, or at least came close to doing so? Really, the only guys he didn't fight there were Rocchigiani and Michalczewski.
