Yeah yeah, but you're still not qualified to offer me cast iron guarantees about high end boxing. Fin.
Was that the fight in which he was ill? Remind me what happened in the rematch? Yeah that light heavyweight that did something that Tyson couldn't.
What you might take away from that, is that Tyson should be given some credit for beating a blown up LHW, who happened to be the lineal heavyweight champion, in 91 seconds. Just saying!
Oh yeah I'll give him credit but pleeeaaase with all the bull**** saying on that night he was unbeatable, he was far from unbeatable at any point of his career.
Nobody is unbeatable. The difference between the great fighters, and the fringe contenders is a bit of a conjuring trick. They are made of the same tissues/organs, and the punches hurt them in the same way. An expert doesnt find something easy, he just makes it look easy.
Well Tyson didn't look like he had it easy against Holyfield that's for sure, he has the better resume and destroyed him head to head, case closed surely??
Another close vote for Commander Vander. He's still, by quite a mragin, the best cruiser I've seen. That was a real impressive reign he had in that division. And he did the same thing in that division Mike did with the heavies...he cleaned it out and got rid of all the old names and ex champs. Then, he moved up a division. Won the title and then lost it quite a few times. He was never a guy, I thought anyway, that was going to hold onto the title long and would get outboxed. I wonder if some softer matchmaking gets him a few more wins. Lets say like DKP did with post prison Tyson. Face a guy like Bruno, who will never beat Tyson. Seldon. Cherry picking like that does not see Evander face Riddick Bowe or a southpaw like Moorer. Instead insert a name like Joe Hipp or Botha or beatable guys like that as opponents. But I never did buy into Tyson as much as others did. If you buy into mike as some guy that would have never lost a fight, then you'd think his accomplishments outweigh Evander's. But me, I thought the heavyweight division was weak when Mike won the title and that list of title challengers. I really don't see too many other top flight heavies struggling much with that opposition list. So I thought Evander faced better competition in far fewer defenses. Holmes and Foreman and youthful undefeated Bowe after dusting Douglas was pretty good. Undeated Moorer. I don't think of that Tyson title reign as anything more than decent.
