"There are many fans and sycophants in the media who buy that angle and repeat it ad nauseum, but for all the good Mayweather's bi-annual mega-fights do for boxing, he's also bringing it great harm with many of his words and actions (or lack of actions)."

A fighter who say his health come first to avoid a certain fighter shouldn't be taken serious. This is the most cowardly thing to do.

Floyd is a douche, and so is Oscar... Creepy little used car salesman. I can't understand how anybody could actually like DLH as a person.

Its not that hard for 2 reasons...

1, Oscar was never that great at being a two-faced snake... As a promoter, its simply his job to always look out for his client, thus his own, better interest, but there's a reason Shaefer was there.

At the end of the day, Shaefer quit because DLH wanted to give his fighters a chance to prove their greatness by fighting fighters from other promotional companies...

2, Oscar, while he was a fighter, fought just about everybody worth fighting with few exceptions... Shows that as a fighter, he's something to be admired

I'm am with this line of thought. He has gotten more and more greedy as a promoter and Mayweather has always tried to weasel his way out of fights he can't have complete control over

Why that is a logical statement for any boxer to make when they suspect a fighter of using Performance Enhancing Drugs and is completely unaware of what his trainer is putting in his milkshakes and then the fighter refuses to take his OSDT......

Yes....health is a concern when you are facing a cheater.....word to Billy Collins Jr. and Alexis Arguello....

When Floyd is concerned you don't care how he gets hurt you just wanna see him hurt regardless of what rules need to be bent.....you guys cheered him getting bit, headbutted and low blowed......because all of those antics haven't worked you resort to wanting him in the ring with roided up Philipinos

Interesting read. Some of it I can agree and some of it I don't. I find it funny that anyone can fault a fighter for looking out for himself though. Who else is gonna do it?

There ain't no pension, no 401K, no union, etc. When a fighter has fought his last fight he gets a thank you card and a personal escort to show him where the back door is. Have a good life and I'll catch you on the flip side.

How many boxers have we seen develop severe medical problems? How many fighters have we seen dirt broke? How many fighters have we seen living on the streets?

Where are their fans at to give them a helping hand? Where are the promoters? Where is the commission?

Can anyone really fault a boxer for looking out for #1 because history has shown us on too many occasions that nobody else is. Not even us ever so loyal fans.
