Bull**** I remember seeing Smokin Joe in tears when he watched Ali struggling. He said " There is no man I admire more I hope he can live life healthy he deserves to"
All I know is the 3 best experiences in my life are the births of my two beautiful daughters & getting to meet and shake the hand of my idol Muhammad Ali. To just be in the same room as him was experience enough. He took time to talk to me before the crowds descended on him. He is one heck of a guy In my opinion without doubt he really is THE GREATEST!!! both in and out of the ring God Bless him
Agreed. All that later stuff that Frazier said was just made up or over hyped. No other boxer that Ali made fun of or disrespected, has any resentment towards Ali as they knew it was just for fun or done to hype the fight between them. Infact, Frazier appeared on many programmes with Ali after the 1975 Thrilla in Manilla fight including 'This is your Life' in 1978, if he hated Ali or had any resentment towards him then it sure didn't seem like it back then. It was only in later years when Frazier was broke, suffering from brain damage and had been forgotten about that he started to grow bitter towards Ali and all the attention Ali got and he didn't. People only rememberd him in the 90's and 2000's because he fought Ali and that must have been a pretty hard pill to swallow for Frazier. The Mark Kram book 'Ghosts of Manilla' was just complete bull**** and a character assasination peice that has been debunked by many in the boxing industry who were around at the time. This is the ALI 'This is your Life' episode, Frazier appears at the 38 minute mark. [yt]ZWZOBX1vE7A[/yt]
I honestly can't say anything good about ali, I won't miss him when he passes away. I do agree with him on race though, that he got right. Everything else? Not so much.
If you don't have anything good to say about Ali then you must be dead inside. Ali is 100 times the man you'll ever be and people all over the world truly love and adore him like no other man over the last century...hell maybe even in history. When he does pass, people will turn to their sons and daughters and say "There was a MAN". ALI defines what it is to be human, he is a great celebration of the how great we can be no matter what we choose to do with our life. Most of all, it's about making a difference to your fellow human no matter what race, religion, colour or creed they were. [yt]SV75aFzC1aQ[/yt]
The greatest heavyweight champion that ever lived. A great poet and civil rights leader and a very good actor in various movie and television productions. He displayed incredible courage in the ring and even more in his battle with Parkinson's. Just a great American. He will be missed. Thanks for the memories, champ.
blah blah blah overrated boxer that was racist and even treated his own people like ****, smacked women around, dodged the draft, said bad things about this country, verbally abused his opponents. You guys are making him out to be some time of god. He's no alexander the great, julious ceasar, napoleon, george washington, tesla....he's just an ignorant ****y loud mouth heavy weight boxer.
I was so lucky to meet this legend as did my brother who passed on. As we were kids we were able to sneak past security, but Ali told them to let us pass. Gave me a hug, kiss on the cheek and carried my bro, said "These are the champions of the future!", then his autograph. I'll never forget that day, God bless him.
You are an idiot a waste of good oxygen How old are u ? 13? You obviously know NOTHING about Ali. To me you are a poster boy for family planning You had to be a mistake LOL
