He would OWN Garcia. Jesus, can you imagine the plodding, slow-as-f*ck Garcia (the nickname 'Swift' has to be the most ironic nickname in all of sports) trying to beat Hatton? Ricky would have had him out of there within 6-8.

No way Garcia can keep up that kind of pace.

Everyone else would have gotten steamrolled, too.

Hatton was a tragedy. A wonderful, great prospect from '98 to '01 - foot speed, hand speed, angles, accuracy, swift side-stepping, body shots up the middle; no clinching, just clean output, in-and-out fighting, and concrete chin (as shown against Magee, Phillips, Tszyu). If he never started lifting weights (on stiff machines for bodybuilder reps) with Kerry Kayes or started fighting once a year for the WBU (allowing him to get out of shape on the **** and junk), he might never of lost. He was a future all-timer, but blew it.

He really fought Tszyu, Castillo, Mayweather and Pacquaio when a mental and physical mess, and hardly disgraced himself!

Garcia, Matthysse and Provodnikov won't be easy.

Provodnikov would be a war due to Hatton loving that kind of fighter. The others?Hatton stops them both.

Other than Pryor, nobody could touch him for work rate @ 140.

@ Bulldog - I agree. He had way too many defences of the WBU belt. Kerry Kayes? He shouldn't be let near Boxers! Too much bodybuilding stuff going on when he has you under his wing.

I would disagree, but honestly I've never seen Hatton fight before Mayweather, and the Castillo body shot KO is kind of fuzzy and ended too fast.

I agree, Hatton gets severely underrated alot on here.

At his best he would give most fighters hell and win most.

He was beating Sevchenko up until about the 7th round i think?

Had he just stuck to an 6 or 8 rounder, that fight would have been in the bag.

After Hatton laid into Danny's body with those shots he'd be speaking fluent Puerto Rican.

Rickey was never the same after Money utterly destroyed him. Of course it was then, and only then, that PacROID chose to take on Money's leftovers.

It was more to do with his binge eating and drinking that ended his career early than expected. Had he been more professional like Floyd or Hopkins, then he would have had another 3-4 years at the top. You simply can't put on 3-4 stones of fat after eating and drinking crap in between fights, and hope to fight at elite level. Sad end for a top LWW.

I could see Hattons flaws that Floyd and Manny exposed getting punished vs Garcia

Hatton can walk himself into counters and keeps his chin in the dangerzone while in range

He can probably beat Provodnikov in a fight like the Urango one and the Mattysse fight is tough to call

    algeri would be interesting

he was a good fighter but over rated. whats his best win at 140?
