The power, skills and indomitable fighting spirit of Manos de Piedras vs the slick boxing PBF. THAT Duran truly was Duranimal and probably the most dominant lightweight of all time. I look for Duran to make great use of head feints, a punishing body attack, and an incredible will to win that PBF truly hasn,t seen before. Duran sneers at Floyd,s attempt to potshot him, and keeps his head buried in PBF,s chest. Duran,s heavy hands make a big difference in this fight. Duran by 13 TKO,with PBF pretty banged up at the end. People need to remember that a 147 lbs of SRL could NOT keep Duran at bay.And SRL had MUCH more firepower than PBF...

The problem with Mayweather is he doesn't have enough firepower to get Duran's respect, because of that it would make for either a very long night for him, or a quick trip to the canvas, either way he looses. I suspect Duran would maul him and stop him in the mid rounds.

Duran vs PBF in 1978 = Mayweather in a SD...

Duran vs PBF from 68 -75 = Duran in a UD..

Big George, reason I picked `78` version of Duran. Was,he still had that tenacity coupled with a lot of ring savvy. I was thinking of the cool precision he displayed in dismantling DeJesus ... Van, I agree that Floyd wouldn,t be able to gain Duran,s respect, so Duran would be able to mug him in close...

You could be right... I'm thinking of the guy who fought Leonard. That guy doesn't beat PBF...

Floyd would be pleading with the referee for help in this one. If the ref's a guy like Carlos Padilla, Mayweather gets abused and roughed up all the way to a UD loss. A ref like Joe Cortez may look after Floyd a little more, but Floyd still loses a decision to a relentless, snarling Duran, and comes out of it with a good grasp of Spanish curse words.

  7. Mayweather could never win in a "fight" with Duran. He would have to take no chances at all. Mayweather would not be able to win in close against Duran so he would cautiously fight on the outside under the aggresion of Duran. So, Duran would be the dictating the pace of the fight while PBF would be pecking away at him and scoring points with meaningless punches. PBF would likely win a close decision en route to losing a lot o fans

The other outcome is PBF gets batterered by the tougher, more aggressive and harder puncher Duran and gets stopped late trying to trade with the hands of stone.

    You don't know PBF's game at 135lbs. That's all...

Duran would be a different kind of relentless fluid animal, ferocious and imposing....Floyd is great and defense and counter but Duran too strong and too much and quick a combination that Floyd has not yet had to face and I dont think Floyd has the firepower to keep Duran off him. I like Duran by a stop between 9-15

I would pick the '78 version of Duran to win...but wouldn't discount Floyd's ability to make it close. Floyd has demonstrated the ability to adapt inside or outside...while in this fight it would be mainly outside.

Duran UD, FM dosent have the power to keep Duran off him, simple.as that...

The pre fight hype, build up and weigh in would be more entertaining than the fight, lol, Duran would be cussing and throwing racial slurs at FM, in Spanish, and FM wouldn't know what the hell he would be saying lol...

Duran UD, as many have already mentioned Floyd wouldn't have the power to keep Duran off him. The fighters who have given Floyd his toughest fights are the guys with strength, who get him on the ropes and maul him. He's never faced a fighter of the caliber of Duran.

Duran by brutal beating if it happened but knowing Floyd if he and Duran shared the same era he would avoid Duran like the plague.

The Duran of `78` would have Fraud saying no mas by not singing anything with Duran,s name on it ;)
