Can someone explain to me what is going on with inside leg kicks thrown with the lead foot? They appear to be so weak, what exactly do they do? Another technique that appears the same way is those knees they throw in the clinch which goes up and sideways and hits the opponent on the side. I just don't see these techniques doing any damage or generating any type of force or leverage that would actually do damage to an opponent. Can someone explain?
If you train the bone and the joint long enough (many many years) it will be naturally hard and would sting any ill-prepared person pretty good... Like bumping into the edge of a table Of course, expect no knockouts or any real damage to be done... It's just the MMA equivalent to shoe-shining
The leg kicks aren't very powerful but most of the time they are like jabs and can be used for a bunch of reasons, whether it be range finding or throwing the other persons rhythm off. If the other person adjusts to them and starts moving their leg away when a light kick gets thrown, the kicker can take advantage of that as well. As for the knees, sometimes they are just keeping busy, whether it be to keep the opponent from squirming away or impressing judges. Both of these are my opinions, obviously not 100%
