we need to have a "middleweight tournament" kind of like they did with the super middleweights a few years back. the top 10 or so guys fighting each other for supremacy....by that i'm talking:

danny jacobs, andre dirrell, canelo alvarez, ggg, cotto, demetrius andrade, erislandly lara, chavez jr, ndam and quillen.

forget the politics and bs....just let them fight each other NOW. let's see how ndam would do against ggg. and how canelo would do in a lara rematch or if cotto could hanlde quillen. a lotta great fights to be made here.

my prediction is lara and direll rise to the top, but anything could happen with this much talent.

Andre Dirrell would have to remove a limb to make 160..

never happen again....all these paper title holders like to consider themselves the champ, and fight the easiest fights possible
boxing is ruined with the corrupt ABCs.....why hasnt the WBA forced unification in their own ranks like they said they would do when creating this "super title"? its a joke

well, a couple of them would beat ggg...then what? i give lara and jacobs a good shot to beat ggg....even quillen might have a shot just because he's so athletic and has KO power. nah, they need to have a tournament. the winner can then defend against the other tournament standouts.

and i can see that chavez jr and dirrell may not be able to make 160 so it would be the top 8 guys only.

There is actually a decent batch of MW's coming through, but it will take a year or two for them to get to requited level.

Guys like Murata,Khyrtov, Quigley, Ogogo are approx 2 years away from fighting for a title.

    Eubank/Saunders are on the brink.

Jacobs is still quite young and I think the best of the Americans. The Lee/Korobov winner would be an easy fight to make against GGG, since they're on the same network.

And then theres the likes on Canelo who will come up eventually.

160lbs will be a very lively division for the next few years.

Its the network wars that are the real issue

Good list but I would replace Dirrell with N'Dam.

The tournament winner gets to fight GGG.
Dont forget that GGG holds 3 titles and is the draw.
He gets most of the money.
    GGG dont need no tournament.

He has the WBA. IBO and some interim belt mean....The money is going to be with either Cotto or Canelo. GGG just needs to fight a real MW fighter. Unify and that will get you the real deal.

No one wants to fight GGG. I think Canelo probably has the stones to do so, but outside of him the rest just don't have the stomach for it.

With the way he's been fighting it could very well be a foregone conclusion. But it would still be nice to see the best fightes square off in a tournament.

wasn't kessler favored to win the super middleweight tournament? ward put an end to that sh8t....the point is, you don't know who will emerge as the top guy when the dust clears...ggg gets a lotta hype for beating guys that suck.llow quality competition so far...i think lara and jacobs respectively would outpoint and KO him.
