Ironic, Donaire gets stopped by a guy one inch taller, and who weighed five pounds heavier in the ring. Then says "Walters was just too big for me" I didn't hear the 5'3 Montiel, the 5'4 Sydorenko, the 5'2 Narvaez, etc. making that type of complaint after they lost to Donaire. Donaire often had greater size advantages over his opponents at the lower weights, than what Walters had over him last night.
Exactly, Donaire is honestly just another Broner. HBO Hype, at least Broner is entertaining to watch though.
Donaire was fighting at 112 pounds just a few years ago...this is his 4th weight division....the guy was naturally bigger and stronger just because they appear to look close to the same in size, donaire is the naturally thinner, smaller whatever guy....he was a blown up featherweight
Only ******s wouldn't see that Walter is bigger then Donaire. Walter over powered Doniare with his size and longer reach. Elite fighters can still win even though they're the smaller man, Donaire just isn't on the elite level...he's very good but not on the elite.
Walters was 5lbs heavier, absolutely ripped. Donaire was 5lbs lighter looking like a teenage boy who doesnt play sports.

He started at 112 pounds. His ascension up the weights was pretty rapid too. He fought in 5 divisions over a 5 year stretch from 2009-13. He has faced smaller guys either in height or size in Narvaez (@ 118, longtime 112 and then recent 115 titlist), Arce (@ 122, was a 112 guy back in the day like Donaire), Hernan Marquez (@ 115, Hernan dropped back to 112 to win a title right after), Darchinyan rematch (@ 126 which Vic had even less business being at), and Manuel Vargas (@ 115, who was more a 105-108 journeyman). However he has also faced many bigger fighters either in terms of height or size in the super bantams he fought in his 4th division and most of their first or second; Mathebula (rangy tall and a 122 guy), Vazquez Jr (solid 122) and Nishioka (established long time 122 guy), as well as Rafael Concepcion (weighed in at 119.5 lbs for a 115 lb fight), and the recent featherweights in Vetyeka and Walters. Sidorenko isn't worthy of your shout really as he is an exclusively lifetime bantamweight where Donaire faced him and was well established there for years as a titlist. Montiel began as a 112 like Donaire but had acclimated to 115 and 118 well before Donaire had climbed up so looking at just their height is certainly deceptive to the reality of "size" and relating Donaire's recent expression "too big for me" when it comes to boxing. He's fought several guys who were outmatched with size, several who were similar in dimensions and experience at the weight, and several guys who held an arguably distinct advantage in size to him for one reason or another.
