    Joseph William Calzaghe is the retired All Time Great Sardinian Welshman, he is the Greatest Super Middleweght of all time, who's record stands at an impressive 46-0 35 KO's. The Legend Killer is mocked by being called Calslappy because of his "featherfisted" lack of power yet his detractors never seem to have any problems with Floyd's 47-0 26 KO's or BHop's 65-4-2 32 KO's, he was a lot more heavy handed as a younger fighter but due to frequent hand injuries the KO's out of necessity had to drop off. Another reason why he didn't have that many devastating KO's is because when your competition is next level they have next level chins, and Sir Joe has a hell of a resume. His ego, pomposity, showmanship and personality was second to none, add to that he knew how to entertain in the ring frequently showboating to add extra humiliation to his opponent coupled with the beating he was doling out. He' s as slick and talented a boxer as you can find, great at most of the small intricate qualities one needs to be a master boxer, he was brilliant at making adjustments to any adjustment his opponents made, his hand speed and combinations were absolutely breathtaking and he had an iron chin to boot. Its a pity he retired when he did he would have most likely dominated the Super Six Tournament had he participated, also its a shame he ducked Froch it would have been nice to see him either dominate or pass the torch to another ATG Brit in The Cobra, and I'd have put my money on Joe had he ever stepped in the ring with Ward. So feast your eyes and witness The Living Legend taking some 0's and slapping the living s*** out of, and dominating with ease all who stood before him. He's a personal favorite of mine, and he's deserving of far more respect on Boxing Forums and in the United States than he receives, he was as brilliant a boxer and you'll ever see.     also the word hammer in hammersmith infers hammerlike force, and joe was powderpuff weakling.

    perhaps hammersmith is not the word you want to put in his name.


    that said, hammersmith is the abode of weakling soft rich southerner types, so maybe the cap fits in an ironic way.
