De La Hoya fought prime versions of

Trinidad (who was 35-0 at the time)
Mosely (who was 34 -0 at the time)
    Hopkins (unbeaten in 10 years)
    Mayweather at 37-0
Chavez Snr ( who was 90 -1 at the time)
Whitiker (who was 40-1-1 at the time)
    and
    Pacman

    plus quality fighters like
    Camacho 63-3
    Quartey 34-0-1
    Vargas 22-1

    and

    Campas
    Mayorga
    Gatti etc

    Mayweather has fought a prime
    Hatton ?
    Canelo ?
    Corrales ?

    and past it versions off
Cotto (post Pac man and margarito maulings)
Mosely (with a 9-5-1 record in his previous 14 fights)
De la Hoya (who was 2-2 in his previous 4 fights)
Marquez (after pac man and Chris John had bettererd him)

    and names
    Maidana-post Khan/Alexander
    Gatti-post De la Hoya, Ward,Robinson,Manfreddy
    Ortiz-Post Maidana /Peterson
    etc

History will show that DLH may not have won them all but he never ducked anyon in their prime and is as close to one of the fab four as they come, check Trinidad in the same way fought the best at their best at that time

    not like Mr Mayweather

Thats why dela hoya is the golden boy. Floyd is tryin hard to be at least be close to oscar before and since pac came, it became all ducking and whining. So yea floyd tries hard to be relevant in this era.

Too bad Oscar went 5-6 verses those guys, and Floyd beat Oscar who whichever way you try to spin it is still undefeated...your argument is invalid...

OP, you're all sorts of stupid.

May is far ahead in the ATG rankings, even Ray Charles and Helen Keller could see it. Moron.

ODLH is on a whole other level. Mayweather is mostly a lucky duck. Even if he goes out without a loss which is doubtful, no one will even care. He has the least charisma and least respect of any fighter in recent memory. People watch just to see him lose. True, dat makes him money, but once he retires/loses, no one is going to even remember him. He is an empty shell.

He's going to be chasing that respect and is going to end up like RJJ, just getting KTFO.

    CORRALES WAS 33-0
    Hatton = undefeated
JLC = young in his career with 4 losses and was still a beast
Judah = was definitely in his prime ( you called him an ATG, not me )
Cotto - better than he looked since 140lbs..

    More excuses please....

You forgot to mention an old Oscar almost beat him. Though Floyd is in a class of his own and a true atg...Oscar IMHO did more as an amateur and a pro.

It's not an embarrassing difference since Oscar found ways to lose most of his marquee fights, but there's no question his legacy has a lot more "dare to be great in it" than Floyd's and I think from an overall perspective he should be regarded more highly than Floyd, though that probably won't be the historical consensus.
