For those of you who have fought, what was your AM / Pro record(s)...???

Did you fight anyone of note or significance...???

I had an amatuer record of 25-3. I had fought twice against Jeremy "Half Man-Half Amazing" Williams, losing both times 13-6 and 10-4.

I was in the 96 trial with Floyd and been in a few camps, been in vipers camps too. many of forrrests camps

being from Brockton ma I spent much time training and messing around with mickey ward and spent some time with gatti from them building a great friendship from their wars. gatti might be one of the best dudes I ever spent time time with. yes, he had issues but we all do correct

I've only sparred with pretty much the same friend of mine routinely. And haven't even gotten around to that but maybe twice in the past year.

As for gloved fights where there was a ring, people watching, and a "ref" and "judge," I did some real amateur hour type of stuff with all these rich Asian cats that I ran into once and started talking boxing with... They were all in a sort of "fight club," actually it was a lot like the movie "Fight Club's" fight club in that posting this story here is pretty much the second or third time I've ever told anyone about it. (Anonymity of the internet is great!)

We wore 12 oz. gloves and no headgear and did several 8 man, 1 day tournaments. I weighed between 128-145 pounds for all of them, my build fluctuating over the course of the year, except for the final one I participated in, where I had bulked up with muscle after a long vacation up to 153 pounds. I would say all the guys there were between 120-170 pounds, me being one of the smallest in mass. Our "fights" were 4 rounders (5th if tied after 4), pro-style 10-9 scoring, same rules, 3 min rounds, etc... I won 3 of them, lost in the finals once, and in the opener once, for a record of 11-2. I never sought them out or heard from them again after winning the last one in August of 2012.

Super noob status, I know, but at least I've given it a go to some degree and probably more experienced than a good lot of posters on here who have never laced up. These were great times and a lot of fun. No regrets.

I had 12 am fights winning 7. I never really got beat, I just lost a few of my early fights because I was learning on the fly and didn't let my hands go. Safety first until I got some experience.

I sparred with several pro's and was looking to turn pro after going on a winning streak and handling many of the Pro's but it fell through.

I didn't start boxing until I was 21. I wish I had started earlier. Boxing came natural to me. Getting in the best shape of my life was the hard part.

Amateur records dont mean anything. Its all a learning experience. Pro is the only place it matters

    7wins 6 losses (amateur).
Needless to say, it's just a hobby...lol. Wasn't expecting a stellar career when I started training & competing at 36.

Although, I did win @ golden gloves last year. i'm focusing on a canadian championship next year. I tried and lost at the WBC Nationals this year. Back to the drawing board.
