I though Oscar beat Trinidad and Mosley twice.

Oscar was a fan favorite, the good guy, a cultural crossover star, and involved in mostly exciting fights. People watched him to cheer for him.

Floyd is not a fan favorite or cultural crossover star. He is involved in mostly boring fights that he controls. People watch him to see when he will lose.

However, Floyd beat Oscar handily IMO- by about 3 rounds. There is no "blueprint" or any of that BS.

If ATGs are judged by their fan appeal and entertainment value, then Oscar may be rated as greater than Floyd.

If ATGs are judged by their boxing skills and ability to win, then Floyd is the better man. It's not close. Note that I am not a real Floyd fan. It's just true.

(IMO- The two real ATGs we have in the middle divisions are, not surprisingly- Floyd and Manny. There are a zillion posts that compare their possible legacies. I'm sorry to say that I am not sure that it will matter any more if they fight.)

The fact of the matter is Shane beat de la Hoya. Twice.

Prime de la Hoya was a one handed fighter who could be outboxed and was a sucker for the right hand. There are a number of guys on Floyd's resume who would have beaten de la Hoya. Corrales @ 130, Castillo @ 135, Marquez @ 130.

yeah a prime shane mosley in a tight fight, the bookies would have oscar a big favourite if he were near prime against a 39 year old mosley.

Corrales was definetly not as skilled as de la hoya ,his size was his key trait de la hoya was big too but faster and more skille.

this would be marquez coming up 2 weights, marquez was too small against mayweather and de la hoya was even bigger.

Corrales @ 130 was a monster. de la Hoya never faced ANYONE @ 130lbs who brought to the fight what Chico did. Corrales by KO.

Exactly who did de la Hoya beat @ 130 or 135 who was on Marquez' level?

I don't know how anyone can say Floyd got a gift. IMO, he clearly won the fight.

I don't think even Oscar contends losing the first fight and looking at Mosley's face after winning the second fight looked like he was surprised to win that one. As was I.:deal

Even the HBO announcing crew, who have traditionally been the world's biggest de la Hoya dick riders, had the fight for Mayweather.

Watch the fight with the British announcers and you'll see how the HBO team was favoring Floyd more and I scored it closer with the British announcing team.

Oscar may have the better resume, but Floyd is miles ahead of him in terms of boxing ability.
