Personally I wish you would scrap those...and do a book on Mike Gibbons. Our local library used to have a copy of Ketchel's death certificate.

I think some people here are having a hard time separating my book from what I write here. A forum is a place to discuss ideas and opinions a work of historical non-fiction is not.

Yet it is convenient for you to believe that Dempsey's record far surpassed what remains on record… and not Tunney's.

A lack of professionalism is not a physical weakness. Argument advanced.

I don't think Dempsey's game plays well over a longer career against a large variety of opponents. He was not a terribly composed fighter. And for all his tiger-like movement on those dancer's legs, he still got tagged. I just rewatched a "prime" Dempsey get repeatedly by Bill Brennan, a guy Greb handled about a hundred times. Not at all impressed with what he was trying to do… at least not to the degree that I would consider him a prime ATG heavyweight.

I have a copy of it. Where do you live? Gibbons will get quite a lot of treatment in the middleweight book. I wont go fight by fight through his career but youll get a good feel for him.

How can you say this when it was explained in the thread? I explained it in the thread in plain English:

Your thread will now be closed again. Please note also, that absolutely nobody wants to write in it because they know this is bat****.

What you're doing is bad for the forum and please stop it. If you don't stop it, you'll recieve a short ban. There's nothing unreasonable about this request: just stop hounding another poster for an answer to a question they don't want to answer - just as you don't want to answer the question he keeps asking you. You two are at an impass.

And stop this "pet" ****. Klompton and I don't get on at all. But he contributes to the forum, heavily, so his foibles are tolerated by all, for the most part gladly.

Up until today I would have said the same of you: go on contributing and stop with this stuff. It's silly, and useless.

Yes. The book is actually about the champions and claimants and only deals with Ketchel for a chapter or two. Each champion/claimant will get at least one long chapter which will then lead into the guy who took it from him or was next in line. It follows Papke to Australia and France and discusses those versions of the title and the resulting rise of Carpentier and Darcy. Carpentier falls out of the story fairly quickly but Darcy's portion runs a bit longer because there is more meat there and it intersects with guys like Clabby, Chip, Smith, McGoorty, etc.

Did you not read where I said that was the last I would ask him? How can others make personal challenges (to Burt and I) and you do nothing but talk of banning me. I made the thread again and Said what I thought would happen if he fought them. What is wrong w/ that. I did not mention K. If noone answers fine, but to get rid of it and scare people from answering the thread is CENSORSHIP. The rules should be the same for ALL. An editor doesn't pick and choose whose side he is on or who he agrees with. So ban me if you must, but explain how Flea nd K can call names and say the demeaning crap they do and you do nothing. If you want to discuss more, email me.:hi:

For the record I answered his questions once. In my answer I challenged him the same I have here recently to back up his statements about my book and he couldnt so he got his own thread taken down. Just like he did again. Had he not continually made false claims about my work I would have gladly answered him.

I'm talking of banning you if you open a third thread to challenge a different poster. To my knowledge, no other poster has done this this week.

That has been explained to you. If you don't wish to accept that explanation, fair enough.

Yes, you are being CENSORED, because you are acting WEIRD.

Well they're not. There are seven individuals capable of moderating this forum; all of them will make different calls at different times of day, depending. Studies also show that, in a more serious walk of life (if you can imagine one...) Judges are more likely to hand down custodial sentences right before lunch or break?

And nor have I. I've informed you that if you continue to open new threads challenging Klompton, whether by name or not, you will recieve a short ban. There is absolutely nothing inconsistent about this at...all, you are just complaining because you've been prevented opening these threads.

What I want you to do now is just log off. Just take a day off, chill out, come back when you want to talk about something else on the forum. Something other than how unfairly treated you are, or how Klompton's book is not even-handed, or Klompton generally. Just go away and do something else for a couple of days, come back when you feel like having fun.

This is just advice, but IF you keep posting off-topic and IF you keep obsessing, things can go bad. Why bother?

I'll only ban you if you make me. I have been absolutely explicit about this. I've now laid out in some detail the circumstances that will result in a ban. If YOU must, i'll ban you.

I'm not going to intervene over name calling, I didn't even intervene with you and klompton when you were arguing for an entire day in a ridiculous manner all over the forum. The reasons: 1) these things tend to sort themselves out, 2) it often leads me to having to make enormous explanatory posts aimed at young kids or even adults who should know better the who the why the what. It is mindnumblingly ****ing boring. I do anything to avoid it.

I asked you and klompton separately to drop this. Absolutely even handed. I closed your thread challenging him and asked you not to do it again. You immediately open a new one.

Just don't do this any more; just don't do this. Then all this goes away and is forgotten and everything is lovely and you can post about what you like. Put him on ignore. Forget it. But don't do it any more.

No YOU pm ME if you want to discuss it further. Don't post about this any more on the forum, that discussion is over; your discussion with Klompton and who Greb would beat is over; your discussion about how bad his book is (or whatever word you want to use) is over.

    Enjoy the forum.
