This is a very hard situation. None of these elite figthers will take the risk with him because of his paper belt and they won't get a huge purse v him. Hearn obviously won't get decent opponents coming over so surely getting in a mandatory posistion and going for a proper belt would be a good idea. Thoughts?

So him with a paper belt is less appealing to another fighter than him without any kind of a belt is it? If he continues to win against the contenders that he is fighting at the minute he will soon get these fights, Frampton is a certainty to happen soon if they continue to win and from that fights against santa cruz and rigo and others will come

The paper belt pays his bills

He will not give that up without a worthwhile opportunity

Absolutely not. He's had truly **** luck with opponents pulling out.

He's hood a decent guy coming in next month. Lost once and ranked 8th.

He needs to keep doing what he's doing. Fighting regular staying undefeated and biding time before those big fights.

By all accounts its not him avoiding the other champs its the other way around. Matchroom have offered Santa Cruz the fight and likewise they have offered the fight to Frampton but he took the IBF route. He has admitted to avoiding Rigo but so is every other fighter in the division so you cant single Quigg out for that. He has had a lot of fighters pulling out on him which has led to lesser opposition but he has taken the mandatories that the WBA have asked for and then had bouts with other fringe contenders too like every champion does these days

    He is fighting nobodies.

Even if he went after Frampton's scraps and tried to do a better job than Carl - to prove a point - I'd be impressed. But instead he is fighting no hopers.

He just turned down £400k odd for a fight in Dubai. What's the alternative? Fighting some apparent 'No.8 Jap' under a card which is packed (because he couldn't draw flies to sh*t) and all in the name of £15k odd? Do me a favour...

if you compare quigg to some USA fighters he's headlining decent sized UK shows, GGG sold 10k for his last fight, which is on a par to what quigg gets in Manc for example.

Im not sure how much of his weak opponents are caused by quigg, bad luck or eddie thinking he's not that good and protecting him from better fighters, probably a combination of the three

there is a quigg Frampton fight in the pipleline, which should be big money fight for both, and maybe quiggs holding out for this and doesn't want to risk this payday for a fight with Galahad or anyone else perceived as a threat.

This is me trying to be diplomatic, but I'm a bit disappointed with his last few opponents if he wants the LSC fight why not look at getting into a mando position for it?

People have got it so twisted when they say Quigg brings in 10k people! How so? Show me ONE card where HE has been the main event, the rest of the card has been dire and it's done that many people?

Only a handful of fighters over here do that many people and Quigg isn't one. He'd be PPV if he was.

I thought his fight in Manchester did 10k people, the one with crolla murray on the undercard, (may have had something to do with it) if I'm mistaken let me know. not sure how many were at his last fight but their fighting at phones4u arena (20ish k) not a smaller venue so there must be getting some decent numbers in.

If he took that offer and fought Galahad in Dubai then theoretically that fight is worse than any he has previously taken as he has wins over lesser opposition than any of his recent opponent. so don't contradict yourself if you want him to fight the best then don't suggest what seems like a good prospect but keyword is prospect, he has not proven anything at a level that is anywhere near Quigg's level yet. Again Frampton's scraps are on a par with his current opponents at the exception of Martinez, so you really don't know who you want Quigg to face really you are just here to slate him without having a reason to hate on him. :patsch

Some opponents have pulled out...some were never opponents. Wake for example NEVER mentioned the bout himself and neither did the Japanese press...

Who takes that man's paper belt serious anyway?

There are many paper beltholders around but he's somewhat of a special case in the paper department, by having been the WBA's 3rd SBW beltholder and then upgrading it to 2nd by drawing some second rate Cuban.
