Not much talk on this one. What are peoples thoughts on this one? If Ali wins, it throws him into the titles race.
Ali has been brought up pretty slowly, and Abregu is still best known for getting schooled by bradley
I think Ali's getting KTFO based on the fact he looked like **** against Jeremy Bryan on the Garcia Salka undercard and got rocked a few times, I'm pretty sure Abregu hits way harder than Bryan.
This will be a miniature Sillakh vs. Grachev, I think - except that Abregu is better than Grachev. I've long thought Ali is basically a mini Sillakh. Parallels between them (all the following could apply to either man): he's a decorated amateur who never quite shook the amateur style and still displays signs of it; he's quick and people are very high on his athleticism, but he is overly reliant on it and lunges in with no transition between defense and offense, seemingly oblivious to even the possibility of being timed on the way in while attacking.
You weren't kidding, STB. A dozen new threads a day on Hopkins vs. Kovalev, yet the other meaningful fight this weekend (and indeed, the co-feature to Hopkins vs. Kovalev!) gets no attention. None. :-(
Think Ali gives Abregu some unexpected problems early on but should succumb to Abregus superior power and experience later on. I have a feeling this is one of those fights where the guy who should be heavy favourite on paper comes in overconfident and gets caught a lot more than expected nothing to really back that up, just a feeling rewatched the Abregu-Garcia match again the other day to get myself in the mood, what a 4 round war that was
abregu may look bad at first but wins it easy by domination by winning the 2nd half of the fight. abregu by ko or he pulls away wit the decsion after losing the first 4 rds
