The difference is, Floyd failed to stop a drained Canelo.

    Pac destroyed Cotto and Margo.

Margo super drained ? He lasted 12 rounds.

A severely drained Margarito went the distance against Pacquiao. You want to see Margarito get destroyed... Watch the Mosley fight. Pacquiao came out of the Cotto fight busted up as well, and you forgot to mention that this was a drained Cotto.

He was made to come in 4lbs below the JMW limit... Canelo had to come in just 2lbs below the JMW limit. If Canelo was drained then Margarito was even more drained, stupid ass. :deal:patsch

Considering he knew his career was probably over and he may even be arrested because of the handwraps, I would say that could probably distract someone from the business at hand, even then Margarito took 9 rounds of flush punches before going smiling.:!:

That's nice. The fact remains that Mosley destroyed him and brutally knocked him the **** out in 9 rounds while Pacquiao won by decision.

Well we know that Pac loses to JMM, the rest who knows. I mean the weights would be an issue in the Alvarez and Canelo fight and Cotto with a trainer might be a little tougher for Pac but he might still beat him. As for Floyds 130 competition Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales would be Pac's biggest challenges could he do it? Who knows, styles make fights. Who would of thought some guy who couldn't even beat Agapito Sanchez would beat Barrera at a higher weight. Pac loses fights when he has a bad day. So far on Floyds bad days he still gets the win. People think it's easy to go undefeated for a really long time, they forget that luck still plays a part. All you need are two judges to have a grudge against you. Or maybe one ref who has a grudge against you (it's easy to lose by dq).

It hard to box one of the best boxers in the world when you are incredibly distracted, Pacquiao beat Mosley's ass so its a moot point.

Floyd protected his zero, yes... but look at what it cost him.

Legacy is about what the casuals and the mainstream media perceive you to be, and whatever his official record, we all know what virtually everyone thinks of the man. Even other HOF and ATG boxers' opinions are on record about it.

It's sad that someone with such talent will never be an icon.

Now that I remember the Agapito Sanchez fight I was not to high up on the hype HBO was giving Pac at the time. I don't think I really turned around and appreciated what he was able to do until the Cotto fight. I think one really important point that people are missing is not the fact that whether Pac would have went through Mayweather's resume undefeated or vice versa, it's where the fighters came from.

Pac was coming from abject poverty. He left home at age 14 to become a boxer because his single mom could not raise 6 kids on her income. Mayweather didn't have an easy upbringing either, but it was nearly as bad as Pac's. May's dad and uncle were world class boxers who taught him how to box at an early age. He made it to the U.S. Olympic team which is much better for grooming fighters for the world level with better nutritionists, SC coaches, etc.

In Pac's early years on HBO he was a crude slugger and didn't look like he was going to accomplish much, but he stuck it out, came back from several losses and defeated highly ranked opponents. So no he would not have gone through Mayweather's undefeated, but I think he would have persevered and still become a multi-weight champion.
