So after BJS suffers a humiliating KO loss he's gonna have to

    a) Go back to his site to be shot and beaten by his dad with a chain

    b) Donate £100,000 to charity

    c) Retire from boxing

    Ouch.

100K is just idiotic. No one, certainly not these two can afford to lose that amount just like that. CEJ is just humoring him, BJS is a fool for proposing it though, he's completely lost it!

    Its all just posturing.

Anyone who has ever had a disagreement with a gypsy knows that without fail the first thing they always say is 'I swear oin my .......'s life'

Its normally mother but in this case he used his kid.

    It means nothing, pure posturing.

He has set himself up for a big fall!

I wonder if he will cool off on some of this chatter in the final few weeks. Needless pressure to heap on yourself. BJS keeps banging on about 'levels' but it is not like he has fought above british/european level himself.

Eubank Jr literally hasn't beat anybody whatsoever. Billy's going to go to work on him.

True, but he's been in with a hell of a lot better than Eubank Jr.

Switch Eubank Jr with Adam Etches for a second and would everyone be picking him to KO Billy Joe so easily? His record is almost identical to Eubank's and he'd be starting as a pretty heavy underdog.

I personally think it will be a competitive fight that BJS wins on points. I don't think either have great power and Eubank has never shown he can work consistently over 12 rounds.

I didn't mean he's been in with better fighters than Eubank. I meant his level of opponent is significantly better up to this point than Eubank's has been and therefore he's to a degree more proven. Blackwell and Ryder are both decent fighters and miles ahead of what Eubank's been in with. Even O'Sullivan, Fletcher, Hall and Blandamura trump anything Eubank has done. Eubank might be better than all of them by a mile... we just have no proof of it yet.

As I said, I think the fight is competitive, but Eubank has spent 20ish fights having to work for about 10 seconds each round to get the job done and spent the rest of the time posturing and posing around. He won't get away with that against Billy Joe and the vast majority of his stoppages are accumulation of punches against shitty opponents so the ref steps in. He won't be get nearly as many opportunities to just tee off in November, because if there's one thing Billy Joe has, it's decent footwork.

I wouldn't give too much weight to this. Billy Joe is a loud mouth for sure, but he keeps his head when in the ring. He is not like Nigel Benn. Nigel was an emotional fighter by nature - he fought with his heart, for better or worse, and sometimes let emotions get to him; Billy Joe is fundamentally a boxer.

BJS wins this by points, i reckon. Eubank hasn't fought anyone. It is easy to look the business against low grade opposition, pose and throw the odd flashy combo. Do that against a quality fighter and you come up short. He (Eubank) just doesn't throw enough punches .

In this type of situation you have to look beyond the quality of oppositon fought etc and look at their two fighters; their aura, intelligence, mental strength. Looking at the both of them, which one strikes you as the one that's going to reach the top and which one will look a bit silly and have an interview in five years time saying he was immature and didn't take his boxing seriously enough?

It's so, so obvious Eubank wins this, just looking at the two as individuals and how they hold themselves.

Also, getting to the nuts and bolts of the fight, it's clear Eubank is far superior athlete who will render BJS's busier style almost worthless by the midway point, and will stop him late. He's a class above.

Maybe, but look at Broner/Maidana for the limitations of using things like confidence and aura as predictors for a fight, especially when you add in low punch output and a tendency to posture rather than fight. Broner/Maidana was determined by a different set of criteria - punch volume, boxing basics, work rate - and these things are in favour of BJS.

I am not knocking you - your instincts may prove right. It is a classic match up. I reckon Eubank has bitten off more than he can chew though.

That's entirely subjective, and pretty arbitrary, criteria.

Best thing to do is just wait until fight night. The only objective measure is their resume, and BJS has the better resume as a point of fact; whether that translates into a better fighter is a leap of faith. Need to wait till fight night.
