Why did RJJ duck Michalczewski and how did he justify it?

So what is the actual reason Roy never fought Dariusz?

    A. Roy was unwilling to fight him in Germany.
    B. Dariusz was unwilling to fight Roy.
    C. Other.

Roid didn't ever have to fight over in Europe because he was robbed in Asia as an amateur. lol. It's comical watching him, his ridiculous steroid apologist fans, AND a whole generation of American fighters use that fight as an excuse to justify why they should never have to travel abroad and always have home advantage all the time. Of course the same rules don't apply for the endless amount of foreign fighters who routinely get robbed over in the US.

And naturally it gets completely ignored that a whole host of fighters from other countries were also robbed in Seoul too (granted the Jones one was very bad). Virtually every single one of Park Si Hun's opponents got shafted in those games, it wasn't just poor old Roy.

And the controversy regarding robberies in those games stems directly back four years earlier to the controversial 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles where there was a lot of outrage expressed, including by the Korean delegation, at all the home town decisions the American fighters received. Of course this is either completely ignored by American fans, bigots and Jones zealots, or conveniently payed down or forgotten about.

It's also conveniently forgotten that the US Olympic committee covered up hundreds of their athlete's failed drug tests between 1988 and 2000, including many of those who participated in the Seoul Olympics (Carl Lewis being one of them), which proven drug cheat Roy also participated in too. There are boxes and boxes full of documents containing the names of those athletes which for some strange reason still haven't seen the light of day.

Roy was a LHW belt holder for a long time picking up belts that Dariusz had claim to but never fought the champ Michalczewski.
Michalczewski had claim to all Roys major titles.
Dariusz had won the WBA and IBF belts and beat the fighter wrongly stripped of the WBC (Rocchigiani) title which was just awarded to Jones. As well as being WBO champ

    why would he have to?
DM was the champ, not Jones. Doesnt the challenger normally travel to the champ?
How often was Jones fighting away from home with one of the belts DM had claim to? Not often

If he felt he had such a "claim" to them, maybe he should have gotten on a plane and claimed them back.

I dont know what he felt or if he was bothered. At the end of the day its a trinket, the real win was beating the man, and that is what Dariusz did and Roy didnt.
Roy was able to have the trinkets Dariusz had claim to and obviously didnt get on a plane to face the man

Not entirely the same. DM didnt just beat the man, but also beat the WBA/IBF champ, the WBO champ and the fighter wrongly stripped of the WBC title. DM also made over 20 defences and beat many top LHWs and was a champ before Jones became a player in the division. Doesnt sound completely the same to me

You make it sound like DM's belts were FedExed to Pensacola.

No, Dariusz didn't have claim to all of Roy's belts. Not at the time of negotiations or before.

Isn't it funny how Hill was the man when Dariusz beat him, yet when Roy fought him the year after, he was shot to ****. Even though he knocked Tiozzo out in one round, two years later.

Like others have mentioned, how long would Dariusz have kept the belts anyway? He didn't want to deal with King etc, so the likelihood is, he'd have relinquished them soon after.

Also, the WBO was a laughing stock back then, just like Dariusz was, for his awful dive against Roch.

If you're going to give Dariusz credit for beating Hill, then you can give Roy some, for trashing him in four rounds.

Who did Dariusz beat for the WBO?

List me all of the top LHW's that he beat.

This is where (in your words) you self pawn.

Because when we debate about Roy's resume, you don't give him credit for beating hardly anyone.

Roy's LHW resume is far superior.

"many" is a stretch...he beat a few top LHWs. He also fought a bunch of guys who RJJ would have been absolutely slated if he ever fought them.

Jones fought Frazier and everyone went ape-****.

    DM fought Ka-Dy King
    Muslim Biarslanov
    Asluddin Umarov
    Darren Zenner
    Everado Armento Jnr
    Andrea Magi
    Nicky Piper
    Joey DeGrandis
    Mark Prince

    IN WORLD TITLE FIGHTS!

Can you imagine what people would have said if Jones had fought those guys?

Both of them have huge egos, and neither one would travel.

    That about sums it up.
